The longstanding popularity of the Super Smash Bros. series has produced numerous copycat games which sought to emulate Nintendo's success. Some have certainly been more successful than others, but there's now a new contender that has the potential to provide a truly unique fighting game experience. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is taking some classic characters from Nickelodeon's long history and pitting them against one another in a colorful and crazy fighting game that already looks like a promising Super Smash Bros. cl

Looking towards the bottom of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 's box art, there are two heads that would appear to be separate characters. In actuality, they are both one whole character, as the art seems to be showing off one of Nickelodeon's stranger creations: CatDog. Cat and Dog are conjoined siblings that face a number of challenges due to their radically different personalities, but they often find some way to work together eventually. It will be very interesting to see how this dynamic translates to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 's gameplay. Perhaps their elongated body will allow for mechanics similar to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 's Min Min , though this is purely speculat

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 's confirmed list of characters is certainly something to get excited about, but there's also potential for so many other characters to make an appearance. The game has over twenty years of Nickelodeon history to draw on, and there are dozens of Nickelodeon characters that could still show up . Some fans are already pointing out some surprising omissions from the first trailer, such as Timmy Turner from Fairly OddParents , and Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot . While it's entirely possible that more characters like these could be revealed in the future, it would be a shame if that potential wasn't fully reali

Both the newly released Override 2: Super Mech League _ and the original sit in an under-represented genre. It seems like an easy assumption that gamers would love giant robots and monsters duking it out as much as _Godzilla moviegoers do , but there have only been a few success stories with that formula over the years. The PlayStation 2 saw titles like War of the Monsters and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee hitting the sweet spot between arcade action and gameplay substance. Since then, every attempt at recapturing the fun of crushing buildings underfoot in arena combat seems to go the same way as what publisher Modus Games is putting out in 2020 - the action is still fun, but there's just not a game to back it up, as it ends up let down by its narrative and other eleme

Following up from the original Override , Super Mech League shifts gears from an alien invasion plot to a more straightforward sports analogy. It's basically like the 2011 film Real Steel if Hugh Jackman was replaced with a still image of a female trainer who talks all about the progress the player is making climbing up the ranks. The "story" mode is a layer of voiced dialogue in the menus that funnels players into online fights. There is a lot of voice work, but all the talking in the world can't make up for the lack of any presentation outside of the giant robot fig

Although there weren't nearly as many characters as the mammoth roster list of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate , Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has already shown off a respectable amount of characters from all across Nickelodeon's history. Here are all of the characters that have been confirmed so

The centerpiece of the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Stars story guide|Https://brawlstarsfans.com/ box art appears to be one of Nickelodeon's most classic and controversial creations, Ren and Stimpy. The psychotic Chihuahua and dopey Manx cat are fondly remembered by many of the people that grew up with one of the earliest eras of Nickelodeon , so it's great to see them be represented in this collection of Nickelodeon history. Considering that they haven't been officially announced, there's no telling how they will play in the game, but it's completely possible that Ren and Stimpy will function similarly to how the Ice Climbers do in Super Smash Br

For years, the go-to fighting video game was Super Smash Bros. , and this shouldn't come as a surprise because older Nintendo consoles and titles have been shaping entire generations of players up to this day and age. With the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and smaller games like Brawlhalla , it seems like the genre has still plenty of room for new releases. Such is the case for the new title coming from Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl , a fighting game that was immediately compared to Super Smash Bros. for its style and the way it handles characters coming from different sh

As previously mentioned, whether players choose to quick match or go into the campaign, most of their fights will be online against other players. Override 2 will default into bot matches if necessary, and that might be an inevitability. Even in its first week, Override 2 struggled to fill up anything but a one-on-one matchup, and the fights against AI are nothing to write home about. Many of the arenas are small enough that's it's easy to overwhelm a computer opponent with a series of spam attacks, and that complete lack of complexity combines with the endless dialogue on a static menu to make for a painfully boring endea
