One of the most positive elements to come out of the growth of the independent games development scene is the way in which fresh voices are able to take on old concepts. Plenty of small studios have been able to reinvigorate tired genres with fresh mechanics, resulting in such phenomenal games as modern classic Into the Breach . The next game to attempt this kind of bold genre shift is **Speed Brawl

Perhaps more impressive than the gameplay is the title's art style. Speed Brawl is a gorgeous game, with wonderful character models for both the varied and constantly growing choice of player characters and enemies, and the game's animation is smooth enough to give its anime style an authenticity that users will appreciate. Although some of the backgrounds might feel a little barren, that's easily offset by the detail put into the way the characters move and f

Despite four modes (five if the single player's Trials is counted) there's not much game in Oh My Godheads . Every mode is very brief, even if Party Edition 's new set-up of a tiered Tournament style is chosen. It's easy to bounce around all the maps and interact with all the Godheads in under an hour and by that point even the most aggressive friend group will likely grow tired of Oh My Godheads ' repetitive gameplay. The powers, maps, and different characters don't add enough replayability. The struggle for one disembodied deity head is the same as the next even if it's hilarious to play as a skeleton named D

If players do find themselves growing bored of the AI they can always find a friend or family member to play with in local multiplayer. On the Switch this is as easy as docking the system and each player grabbing a Joy-Con. Switching between single-player and multiplayer is simple, but the biggest downside is that there are only a couple of different characters to choose from. There are several more characters that the player does have access to, but they are locked behind microtransacti

Powdered Toast Man would appear in three more episodes. In his final appearance, he canonically dies by holding in a burp at a dinner party, causing a build-up of pressure which makes his head fly off. After another character unceremoniously eats his head, Powdered Toast Man and his signature catchphrase, "Leave everything to me," were heard from no more. So seeing him alive and well in **Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl ** is a welcome sight for _Ren & Stimpy _ f

Although grinding or slowly building up new items isn't always a bad thing, in a game that is primarily about speed it can lead to some major friction. Unfortunately, this is a problem that's intrinsic to the way Speed Brawl Stars news|https://brawlstarsfans.com/ functions, and as such it's quite hard to ignore. Nonetheless, if players can overlook this element of the game, or perhaps have a little more patience for getting up to full speed, then there's still plenty of fun to be found h

The inclusion of microtransactions wouldn't be that big a deal if there was more content available in Brawl Chess, but there really isn't. With only the two modes to play in, things can get dull fast. While it certainly isn't expected for a game to completely reinvent the game of chess , there could have been different scenarios or challenge modes useful for players wanting to improve their skills. In its current state Brawl Chess is just chess. There is nothing wrong with simplicity, but without additional features or game modes on top of a standard game of chess, Brawl Chess does feel a little bland. Those who want a well-made chess game that they can take on the go with the Switch though could do a lot worse than Brawl Chess, so it's got a niche and it fills it w

Of the three initial Nicktoons, Ren & Stimpy _ had the shortest run and was cancelled in 1996, likely because of its multitude of controversies. _Ren & Stimpy _ had a short-lived, widely panned 2003 iteration on SpikeTV called _Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon _ which was, as the titled suggests, explicitly for adults. _Ren & Stimpy _ has a fascinating, yet troubled, history for a fascinating, troubled show. But its mark upon animation cannot be ignored, and it's readily apparent in shows like _SpongeBob SquarePants that have gotten games of their own. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Ren & Stimpy _ paved the way for adult cartoons like _Beavis and Butt-Head and South Park , eit

Oh My Godheads occasionally taps into the unbridled joy of the N64 multiplayer era but only in brief bursts. There's not enough depth to justify more than a 15 minute stretch of Oh My Godheads at a time, no matter the chosen mode. The controls are simple to grasp but there's no real sense of progression or skill to them. These gameplay problems obviously won't change much if there was online multiplayer involved but its exclusion is noticeable and a problem. If a Nintendo Switch owner doesn't have three friends around the enjoyment level of the game shrinks up to nonexistence. Oh My Godheads has a solid pick-and-play base but it never goes beyond it. As it is Oh My Godheads feels more like it belongs in a compilation of mini-games than as its own standalone ti
