			<description><![CDATA[<br>So if you accept that the Wii U is Nintendo's system for the foreseeable future, and that the system itself is not going to make any major changes, you considerably narrow down the list of problems that Nintendo can conceivably address in order to improve their console market standing.<br><br>If you’re a gamer and you haven’t read Reality Is Broken by Jane McGonigal (you might have seen her on The Colbert Report ), head on over to Amazon and check it out. It’s a fascinating look into how video games are making the world a better place, but also how we look at games overall. In the first chapter, she illustrates four main components of any game, one of which being the "goal", that important drive that gives gamers incentive to continue. It’s essential to any kind of game because without it, the game doesn’t have a meaning. It’s generally pointless to play, and therefore, a gamer won’t play.<br><br>Telltale Games has a way of making games based off of characters or stories that already have impressive stories and making them better. With Minecraft: Story Mode, however, they managed to create an entire universe and story based off of a game that didn't necessarily have either of those. We've seen our hero, who is meant to play the role of your average Minecraft player, traverse the overworld with his friends, each who represent different types of players, in order to meet his favorite band of heroes. Of course, not everything goes as planned as chaos ensues and Jessie and his friends are put in a position as the only ones capable of saving the world from the Wither Storm. This episode, though, is much after those events with Jessie being in charge of the new Order of the Stone, fighting monsters and searching dungeons for loot. They've become what the old Order used to be and are loved by the common folks but hated by other adventurers who do the same thing but aren't as well known as them.<br><br>The episode also alludes to death; a lot. Considering the fact that both Olivia and Axel are completely omitted from the episode save for the prologue, there is basically no comic relief. Not that you should play a game simply for its humor, Minecraft: Story Mode has a reputation for having humor and making friendship stand above all else. While this episode does focus on friendship and <a href="https://www.Mcversehub.com/articles/my-personal-encounter-with-minecraft-s-elusive-chicken-jockey.html">how rare Is a chicken jockey in minecraft</a> your decisions can shape the future, death always seems to be around the corner and everyone you come in contact with seems to want you to die, or at last Aiden openly expresses it. It also doesn't help that Aiden and the Blaze Rods were basically considered obsolete until now, so it's difficult to really believe that he would want to do this to the citizens of Sky City just because he's jealous. Had this episode focused on why they are being brought back rather than throwing them into a whole new story, the episode would have made a little more sense.<br><br>The Wii U doesn't inspire that same impulse purchase instinct. While playing the right game on one with friends is generally considered to be a good time, unlike the Wii it's gimmick isn't quite as viscerally satisfying. It doesn't really grab you. It's a system that shares many of the same shortcomings as the Wii, but has little of its charm or raw appeal.<br> <br>The Breeze is a completely new mob in the game, and it is exclusively found in Trail Chambers as an enemy to be defeated. This mob attacks players from a distance by firing wind charges, and unlike most over mobs in the game, projectiles cannot hit the breeze as it will fire them straight b<br><br>The expansive nature of Minecraft ’s world is also what contributes to this fully realized sandbox vision. The worlds are virtually infinite (on PC) and provide ample opportunity to adapt and explore multiple biomes and topography. There’s no real reason to go to one area over the other, but players are frequently compelled to do so. It’s an embrace of wanderlust, one that has influenced many other games like the upcoming No Man’s Sky . You have no objective beyond the horizon and there might be seriously dangerous monsters out there. You might not be well-equipped or even supposed to go there at the current equipped state. But you keep going, just to see. Just to explore.<br> <br>The standard Spiders would be enough to frighten any arachnophobe, but Cave Spiders take things to the next level. These eight-legged monstrosities have a sickly green tint to their bodies and lurk in abandoned minesha<br><br>VR Control mode has a number of options available for it, but the default is that turning is done by a series of instant changes, like teleporting in place but facing a different angle. Turn slowly and the jumps are tiny, turn fast and you get a much larger angle of change. Additionally, when you look while walking your "body" automatically changes direction to face the same way without the need to manually adjust it. The trick is to eliminate as much as possible anything that might cause dizziness, and although these changes wouldn't work on a game like Doom they're fine for something slower-paced like Minecraft. There's a sense of companionship when sharing items or fruit and rivalry when catching bugs or fish. The core of Animal Crossing's entire identity is community, sharing interests and differences. New Horizons has players starting from nearly nothing and building their own world along the way. Eventually players can show off their hard work with a fully decorated house or a fantastic visit to the museum. Even just sitting down to take a picture together with silly expressions gives that relief that it's alright to take a break without thinking too hard now and then. Not even a wasp sting can hurt long when a friend is there to give some medicine or at least laugh over how ridiculous it was.<br><br> <br>Released in mid-2020, Grounded is one of the most original survival games on the market and, for those old enough to remember it, will likely invoke fond memories of the classic eighties comedy, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids . That's because the plot is somewhat similar, with players taking on the roles of young children who have been shrunk down to the size of a<br><br>At its heart though, what they did is take a game that was capable of making even non-gamers stop and have a look and translated it to an experience that allows you to invite that other person to join without sacrificing any aspect that made the original game great. In some games, you walk away feeling like you could have lived your whole life not needing to know anything about what just happened. This game, and specifically this episode, doesn't feel that way and makes sure to utilize all the time in the episode to prove that. Nothing goes unnoticed and everything is important whether it be information that pertains to this game specifically or the base game. Battles are not too long-winded and conversations don't make you want to skip them. Everything feels as though they are timed just right and you almost forget that you are sitting in front of your television for so long. You don't really think about what could have happened if you did or said something differently and only look forward to seeing what comes of the decision you've just made, which is odd for a game that is meant to be replayed in order to make different decisions. Besides, there are some things that you wouldn't want to see happen again and are better off just forgetting all of the decisions that you didn't make.<br><br>The big purpose of this episode is to find Ivor's lair out in The Far Lands to find an enchantment book that has the power to destroy the command block that is still lingering inside of the Witherstorm. In a scene with both Soren and Ivor, Jessie discovers that the storm is following the amulet that Gabriel had given him and with that, Axel takes it upon himself to hold onto the amulet while Jessie retrieves the enchantment book. The group collectively agrees that Axel and another member of the Order of the Stone will return to Soren's lair where the Enderman that Soren has collected can help in disassembling the Witherstorm as they had all witnessed them do in an earlier scene. While they are doing that, the plan is to then forge a weapon and fuse the enchantment book with it but in Jessie's fight to do so, he is separated from Ivor who is helping everyone escape from a few lingering witches. Alone and lost, it is up to Jessie and his friends to pass through to Ivor's lair, which happens to be riddled with booby traps and mazes, and return in time to defeat the storm.<br><br>The episode also alludes to death; a lot. It’s clear that Minecraft is a commercial success and a cultural milestone, but if as gamers you look into what Minecraft is and what it does, you realize that it’s not just about goofy blocks of sands, hissing Creepers or that square sun rising over the horizon. Minecraft is a landmark title in games as a whole; it does things that no game before it has achieved, at least not at this level. Making a game a work of art isn’t about flowering up the graphics or enlisting big-name voice talent; it’s about using what you can only do in a game and making something fresh and new. It’s about taking these distinctive qualities of the gaming medium and breaking free of convention. Minecraft does all that. In spades. If we’re to show the world that games can do amazing things, things that film or TV can never hope to ever achieve, Notch’s indie-game-that-could is our best weapon. Plainly and simply, Minecraft is a work of art.<br><br>Still, it is the girl that Nintendo has brought to the dance. As such, it's highly unlikely they will be replacing it with an entirely new console anytime soon. After all, they're not a company on the verge of bankruptcy whose entire future relies on the Wii U becoming the dominant selling system. It's a fairly stripped-down entry in the genre, with no character classes or specializations, but instead focuses on character customization through loot. At the start you choose a character skin, none of which have any advantage or disadvantage over another, and then through the course of the adventure find gear to fit your play style. There are six slots to fill, three of which are for action accessories assigned to the controller face buttons and the others being the equipment of weapon, armor and ranged, and while it's tempting to go for straight power over anything else, it's better to find things that suit your play style.<br><br>The story development in this episode brings out its appeal to older audiences. It's fast paced and doesn't leave a whole lot of room to think where it would be important to. Quick time events (QTEs) are important in the episode, as they have been in the previous three, making it known that you have to be ready for anything. When you aren't interacting in a QTE, you are trying to solve a series of puzzles that can only be done so by following a set of clues. The previous episodes also had puzzles the solve but they were as easy as flipping a few switches and moving on. This episode stresses your ability to listen in order to solve the puzzles and makes it a little easier to screw up and start over again. The episode also follows in the footsteps of the previous as exploration continues to be an important aspect. Since these puzzles are a little bit more difficult, every room has more information and lore about the world that Telltale has created as you search for clues.<br>Yes there will be boss battles. There are four different worlds in Dragon Quest Builders and each one will have a boss battle. There will also be many sub quests and side quests that will also feature boss battles. Each stage will have a strategy and that will play into the boss fight. Going against a boss with brute force alone is not recommended, and building will play a role in success against a boss. This may include building traps, or in the case of an aerial boss you will need to build a powerful bow to use against it.<br><br>The big purpose of this episode is to find Ivor's lair out in The Far Lands to find an enchantment book that has the power to destroy the command block that is still lingering inside of the Witherstorm. In a scene with both Soren and Ivor, Jessie discovers that the storm is following the amulet that Gabriel had given him and with that, Axel takes it upon himself to hold onto the amulet while Jessie retrieves the enchantment book. The group collectively agrees that Axel and another member of the Order of the Stone will return to Soren's lair where the Enderman that Soren has collected can help in disassembling the Witherstorm as they had all witnessed them do in an earlier scene. While they are doing that, the plan is to then forge a weapon and fuse the enchantment book with it but in Jessie's fight to do so, he is separated from Ivor who is helping everyone escape from a few lingering witches. Alone and lost, it is up to Jessie and his friends to pass through to Ivor's lair, which happens to be riddled with booby traps and mazes, and return in time to defeat the storm.<br>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<br>While that could serve as the intro to any number of creepy fan fiction tales, my thoughts were much more earnest, yet still slightly troubling. Specifically, they were about how the blue hedgehog and vertically gifted plumber were real oddballs as far as company mascots go, in that they weren't really dreamed up by a PR team or advertising firm, but rather by the products themselves.<br><br>Minecraft: Story Mode has managed to surprise fans of episodic games with every episode released. While the second episode might not have proven that, both Episode 1, Episode 3 and now Episode 4 have not disappointed. Probably the best episode yet in both content and character development, Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 4: A Block and a Hard Place will leave you emotionally defeated. Lasting a little bit over two hours, the episode gives closure to the events that Jessie and his friends are facing in saving the world from the Witherstorm. It begins right where you left off last, either Ellegard or Magnus having died (according to the decision that you make) and Gabriel having been rescued but with no recollection of what has happened (a side effect from having Wither Sickness). You all run from the storm only to find safety in a cave, still within the storm's range.<br><br>The age of system mascots and Triple A exclusives may be a fading memory, but it's really no matter, because the one we are about to enter where innovative new ideas and bold risks are rewarded, encouraged, and prized above all may just be the most exciting time ever to be a gamer. All the hype on which system you should buy may be focused on what a system costs, or what it can and can't do in its multimedia capabilities, but trust me when I say that in the end, you'll be keeping an eye on who's got what indie titles all to themselves when deciding which console is right for you.<br><br>It’s safe to say that Minecraft has become one of biggest gaming phenomenons ever, earning mass cultural significance and merchandising opportunities, all while solidifying Persson’s creative mastery and contributing to the indie game boom of the 2010s, but Minecraft has taught many gamers and developers alike that there are ways to approach game design from other angles and still provide a fulfilling experience. When it comes right down to it, gaming hasn’t had the kind of creative milestone Minecraft has shown in a long time. It uses the gaming medium in groundbreaking ways that no other medium can use; it is a work of art in every sense of the matter.<br><br>I’m not going to argue that every game should sell itself vertical slice demos. There’s obviously a lot of cost involved in giving away a standalone product, and not every game lends itself to this sort of distillation. However, both Dead Rising and The Stanley Parable went the extra mile with their demos and garnered excellent sales. The same seems to be holding true of Bravely Default. Developers capable of building a short standalone scenario should definitely consider it when it comes time to market their games.<br>Someone needs to have a nice sitdown with the gaming industry about VR and what it can and can't do. The ability to transport the viewer inside a scene is incredible, and if that scene happens to be in the cockpit of some kind of ship, then it opens up a whole range of movement options that would otherwise be a bad idea. Putting the player behind the eyes of a protagonist who walks around freely in the standard FPS viewpoint, on the other hand, is something that has only sounded awesome. It's hasn't been. Really, seriously, it's kind of sucked, and while wanting it to be different won't change that, clever viewing systems just might. It’s a fascinating look into how video games are making the world a better place, but also how we look at games overall. In the first chapter, she illustrates four main components of any game, one of which being the "goal", that important drive that gives gamers incentive to continue. It’s essential to any kind of game because without it, the game doesn’t have a meaning. It’s generally pointless to play, and therefore, a gamer won’t play.<br><br>Finally, the construction element is there. Minecraft ’s blocky aesthetic has constantly been compared to that of LEGO’s, and really that’s true. In fact, it’s likely that it was intended to be that way. The game features a slew of old-school RPG mechanics and combines them with some of the more recent survival game concepts to great effect. Choices feel meaningful and gameplay is fluid which together leads to a wonderful experience whether playing on one's own or together with a fri<br>We’re all familiar with the standard demo format: you play a section of a game (almost always the tutorial up until just before the first boss), and then everything comes to an abrupt halt while a screen either asks you to unlock the full game to continue, or tells you when it’s coming out. If you’re very lucky (as in the case of most Devil May Cry demos) you’ll get to play through a level and fight a boss out of context. This might convince you to get the full game, or tide you over until a game you’ve been waiting for has been released, but either way, it’s almost always stuff you’ll have to redo once the game proper begins.<br><br>Sometimes, though, developers go the extra mile and build a vertical slice to demonstrate their game. This is a lot of work – even re-using assets from the game, you’re looking at many hours of scripting and scenario design – but the payoff speaks for itself. Bravely Default’s demo is essentially its own mini-RPG, with three dungeons to conquer, five bosses to fight, and a whole bunch of enjoyable grinding to do in the interim. It has condensed versions of the streetpass and job mechanics from the main game that allow you to familiarize yourself and get to the fun quickly. However, it’s always more exciting when an indie darling can catch everyone by surprise and do even more with substantially less. If someone only cares about completing the main story, it is possible to rush through the game and complete it in approximately ten hours, but because of the volume of optional quests and activities it can extend well beyond one hundred hours. It is possible to build anywhere in the world, the player is not restricted to only having construction done in the base camp area. This will not effect the camp growth or progress the story but should the player desire it is possible to cover every square inch of land with construction. The scope of world is huge, and exploring to the end of it will give the player more things to build with nearly limitless potential. There are four different stages, all are unique from each other with different challenges and unique things to do.<br><br>Capcom took a similar approach in 2010 with Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, although that was turned from a demo into a 10 dollar downloadable title. Set in a small town entirely separate from fortune city, it still offered a streamlined version of the core Dead Rising experience – a sandbox packed with improvised weapons, hundreds of zombies, and scattered survivors to save within a set time limit. Players got a cheap taste of the full game without spoiling anything, and their stats carried over to reward the investment of their time and money. It’s impossible to say exactly how Case Zero impacted Dead Rising 2 in terms of sales, but I can testify that it’s what sold me on buying the full game.<br><br> <br>While it's not quite Minecraft in space as some might have gathered, this delightful indie brings a celestial twist to some of that game's fundamentals. Astroneer features space-themed exploration, item crafting, assembly, and loads of survival gameplay to b<br><br>We've stumbled into some uncertain times, dear readers. I can't say I've ever experienced anything as intense as the Social Distancing Era. As we watch doctors of all kinds on the news recommend that we stay home as much as possible, we're faced with new challenges to overcome. Those of us who self-isolate may find this to be a troubling time -- especially if it affects our income, work, childcare or health. Yet "social distancing" doesn't have to mean completely cutting yourselves off from your support network! Path of Exile is a beautifully robust ARPG that will help bridge the gap. It's like if Developer Grinding Gear Games basically wanted Diablo 2 back, so they created their own Grecian-inspired version. It's all there: awesome loot, a unique ability-gem loadout system, a massive skill tree that allows you to create inspired builds. It features online co-op so you and your buddies can play through the story together. The best part is that it's free-to-play, so it's an ease on both your mind and your wallet during these trying times. Path of Exile can be found on Xbox One, PS4 and PC which means a wide audience will be able to enjoy playing.<br><br>[N. Beyond that it is a story driven adventure game with many RPG elements, so even though there is some common ground, it is a very different game.<br><br>You can't directly damage them with weapon attacks but you can use traps to get rid of somebody. They don't actually die, but if an NPC is reduced to zero hit points they fall unconscious. They do gradually heal over time and eventually they will regain consciousness. You can heal them to recover hit points more quickly, or you can take their unconscious body and drop them off in some far away desolate location.<br><br>While there are those who will gravitate towards single player or competitive games, I would personally recommend something with a friendly and helpful community that will help scratch your socializing itch. Of course one of those games is Final Fantasy XIV, an MMO where you can hop on with friends or find completely new players to traverse the vast world with. It’s a daunting task as there’s thousands of hours worth of content that can be dipped into, but that just ensures you’ll never be bored. We’re talking raiding, treasure hunting, PVP, decorating houses or apartments, fishing, mount farming and so much more. Of course there’s the terrific storyline that (especially in Shadowbringers) touches upon strong themes, but it’s the communal aspect that Final Fantasy XIV excels at, making this one of the best games to play whilst social distancing. You can even go onto servers that have an active role-playing community, if that’s your thing. The number of linkshells and discord servers I’ve become a part of over the last year alone has only helped me enjoy the game even more, showing me how much the community has grown. You’ll always run into someone who’s a bit toxic, but it’s such a rare occurrence. With Square Enix pumping out a steady amount of content -- with the last major update only a month old -- there’s plenty to dig through, be it for new or returning players.<br>]]></description>
