From a speculation standpoint, it's hard to truly read between the lines here. It's clear all of this prototype gameplay was shown at EA Play Live in service to getting fans excited by the potential technology that could go into the next Battlefield game, but there wasn't too much shown. Considering EA Play Live premiered in June, and a new Battlefield game is planned for 2021, this footage was likely captured very early on in the game's developm The current game in the series, Battlefield 5 , w...

Perhaps the worst thing now is Battlefield is dealing with an identity crisis. Being the gritty simulatory modern combat experience Battlefield is known for just isn't enough. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does that, but also backs that with the characters like Captain Price who make the experience more memorable. Not only that, but Modern Warfare 's version of Ground War essentially became a version of Conquest from Battlefield , minus the destruction. A lot of what made Battlefield special, Cal...

After DICE ended support for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 at around the same time as Battlefield 5 , a majority of their resources can now be spent on the first next-gen game in the standout FPS series. The most anticipated information will be the reveal of the game's setting. Battlefield 5 saw the series return to its World War II roots, after a string of modern-day releases before the first-time visit of World War I in Battlefield At the beginning of November, EA revealed that Battlefield 6 would ...

Battlefield 5 had a lot of marketing hype on the way to its release, but quickly found itself under pressure from fans due to the live service approach being the source of many complaints. Over time the game struggled for a number of different circumstances, while games like Modern Warfare mostly saw praise. Even though Modern Warfare had its own share of problems, the game was very successful and is still riding great momentum. Battlefield 6 may need to make some serious adjustments if the seri...

Regardless of which franchise is borrowing from which, Battlefield will need to find a way to differentiate itself from Modern Warfare regardless. It's less about the classic Call of Duty vs. Battlefield debate , but more so the fact that Ground War follows a lot of the conventions of classic Battlefield multiplayer without the trappings of destruction or variety of vehicles. The solution isn't necessarily to change things up significantly, considering innovation is probably at the bottom of Bat...

Of course, the Battlefield 2042 Walkthrough|https://battlefield2042pedia.com/ franchise could surprise fans with something completely new for the series. Perhaps not as outlandish Battlefield Hardline , but something like a completely new time period or setting. There's still a variety of conflicts throughout world history that many games, not just Battlefield , still haven't tackled in a video game. Conflicts like the American Civil War, the Korean War, and the modern 20th century Middle Easter...

According to IGN, EA has reconfirmed that DICE will release Battlefield 6 in 2021. After DICE creative director Dennis Brännvall released the news regarding Star Wars: Battlefront 2’s final content update, EA gave a statement to IGN assuring the community that DICE would continue to support both Battlefield V and Battlefront 2 for the next couple years. EA Play's last few moments, at least before the announcement of Skate 's return, did show off some prototype gameplay of what appeared to be a Battlefield game. It's unclear if it was specifically Battlefield 6 , as it showed what looked like World War II soldiers running across an untextured plane. This was likely a re-use of assets in a new/repurposed development environment, so it's not indicative of a World War II setting or the final product by any means. That being said, Battlefield 6 will...

Henderson’s comments on how "feedback from 3rd parties has been overwhelmingly positive compared to previous installments" should be extremely promising for fans of the series. While opinions will certainly vary on the game when it arrives, knowing that those who have had a chance to play the game early have enjoyed it is surely good news for the Battlefield community. Based on the positivity thus far, DICE seems set to deliver on Battlefield 6 's ambitious ide It might seem like choosing a mode...

One area in particular that Battlefield definitely doesn’t need to focus on is the single player content. In fact, the franchise would frankly do better without it entirely. Arguably, the last good Battlefield single player story was Battlefield 1 , and even then, the campaign took a back seat to multiplayer just like every other modern Battlefield game that preceded it. Classic Battlefield titles are fondly remembered for their multiplayer experiences, and even though games in the past have had...
