The next DICE game takes players to the Star Wars universe, with none other than the once-panned Star Wars Battlefront 2 being a must-play shooter in 2021 . While the game launched in a rough state, lacking content and boasting some of the most controversial microtransactions in the history of video games, the game has made an incredible turnaround in recent years. Not only were the microtransactions done away with, but plenty of post-launch content came too, bringing new life to the g Even if b...

Speaking of quality campaigns, the Battlefield: Bad Company spinoffs join Battlefield 1 as having some of the only standout story modes of the franchise. While the first Bad Company game leaned into large-scale gameplay, giving players freedom in how they completed their story missions, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 improved this experience by focusing on something that worked surprisingly well in the first game: the cast of characters. From the nerdy but lovable Sweetwater to the explosives-loving...

EA Chief Studios Officer Laura Miele wrote in a blog post today (via ComicBook.com ), detailing the fact that Criterion would be delaying its new Need for Speed title in order to help give Battlefield 6 the support it needs. Miele also noted that the game will be getting an alpha, seemingly very soon. "The project is tracking towards the franchise’s earliest Alpha, the gameplay is at an unprecedented scale, and we are taking full advantage of the technology in the next-gen consoles," Miele said....

Whether it is a recent release or a decade-old title, Battlefield fans and those simply looking for a good way to spend their time can enjoy themselves by playing a handful of DICE’s best games. From duking it out in early 20th century conflicts to clashing with online opponents in a galaxy far, far away, fans of the first-person shooter genre have several solid options on their hands. While none provide the massive player count that Battlefield 6 will supposedly have, and a few are no longer up...

Henderson also notes that the game will feature cross-play between all platforms, possibly including last-gen. This would make a lot of sense given other shooters like Call of Duty have greatly succeeded by doing this. With player counts doubling, there will also need to be far more players to matchmake with to ensure matches are filling up properly. There will also be a free-to-play component, likely battle royale, and a system called "Units" which combines multiple squads together to complete ...

With little officially known about the next Battlefield game apart from its player count, perhaps DICE takes a more cartoony approach with this title. A bright new visual style could change things up even further, creating a greater level of distance between the old and new styles by making use of some more unique graphics. If there is a campaign, players could be introduced to a squad of lighthearted and funny characters like the ones seen in the Bad Company subseries — with a group of misfits ...

While 2016’s Mirror’s Edge Catalyst proved to be a disappointing and forgettable follow-up, the 2008 original was anything but. Offering incredibly fun platforming that discourages fighting and prioritizes smooth, speedy movement, players can get around each area at wildly fast speeds. Ziplines, wallrunning, pipe-climbing, and other features help to this process even more entertaining, ensuring that Mirror’s Edge players have a good time until they roll credits. With graphics that still hold up ...

Battlefield 6 has a lot riding on it, as EA is investing a lot of time and resources into the title. The game will unite a handful of EA's top developers, all of whom are contributing different things, such as a potential battle royale . It's also set to be one of the most ambitious titles in the series to date with a reported player count of 128 players and a high level of dynamic destruction. After Battlefield V was met with underwhelming sales and reception, it's likely EA decided to go all-i...

Few concrete details are known, but Battlefield 6 is expected to finally be returning to a modern combat setting and to feature bigger battles than ever before. That's good news for many Battlefield fans, but it will take more than a return to modern combat to dethrone Call of Duty . To outsell the king of shooters, Battlefield needs a steady stream of content for players to engage with, something Call of Duty has long excelled at thanks to multiple Activision Blizzard support studios helping to...
