Make no mistake, 128 players can be a good thing for the Battlefield brand . A sizable boost to the player count feels like a natural evolution of the franchise, and if DICE can succeed in delivering satisfying maps and stable gameplay despite this increase, the larger teams could be a major strength of the sequel. However, while Battlefield 6 having more players can absolutely be a solid foundation to build upon, it should not be the only noteworthy change that the next game makes to the series...

Battlefield 6 has already been confirmed for a spring reveal and a holiday 2021 release, so it's entirely possible that the alpha will come shortly after the reveal. When Battlefield: Hardline had its E3 showing, EA put up a beta on PS4 and PC to give players instant access to the game. It's entirely possible EA may pull a similar move for Battlefield 6 _ and debut the alpha following the game's initial reveal. If the studio is aiming to have the "earliest alpha" for the series, it would have to...

With Battlefield 6 supposedly taking inspiration from Battlefield 3 , one great way to call back to the successful entry in the series would be to bring back Battlelog. More than just a bit of nostalgia for old school fans, the app’s return could prove to be useful and engaging for newcomers. With the account becoming active again after such a long period of time, it seems unlikely that DICE would have used it to announce this random fix when any other Battlefield -related social media account w...

Much of this depends on when Battlefield is initially announced. There's virtually no information on if and when a Battlefield 6 or new Battlefield game will be announced this year, despite being initially planned to release in EA's 2022's fiscal year, which means any time after March 31, 2021. Based on prior releases, the next entry will likely be a fall/winter release, but the reveal itself is a bit up in the air. Most would expect anywhere in the April/May 2021 range, but without a focal poin...

While 2016’s Mirror’s Edge Catalyst proved to be a disappointing and forgettable follow-up, the 2008 original was anything but. Offering incredibly fun platforming that discourages fighting and prioritizes smooth, speedy movement, players can get around each area at wildly fast speeds. Ziplines, wallrunning, pipe-climbing, and other features help to this process even more entertaining, ensuring that Mirror’s Edge players have a good time until they roll credits. With graphics that still hold up ...

This rumor is particularly interesting considering just how different the two franchises are, as little similarities between Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare exist apart from their settings and the first-person perspective . However, this leak could change that, as one simple move could have huge implications for the Battlefield franchise. While this is still only a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt, fans can expect some big things if it proves t The release of Battlef...

In an investors call (via VentureBeat ), EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that the new Battlefield will be revealed this spring and began to tease the potential for the title. It's unclear whether or not the game will come to Xbox One and PS4 but it is confirmed to release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. According to Jorgensen, Battlefield 6 will " mark a return to all-out military warfare ." He continued by talking about the scale of the new shooter. " The game takes full advantage of the...

On the flip side, DICE may stray even further from the tone of the Bad Company games by going hyperrealistic with the next title. With the power of next-gen consoles, the series can look even more stunning in terms of visuals, matching the boosted player count with an absurd level of detail. Pulling from Modern Warfare even further, the next Battlefield game could be grittier and more realistic. Finally including gore in multiplayer, pulling from real world events, and showing the collateral dam...
