With Far Cry 6 leaked and all but officially confirmed, it seems safe to say that fans are excited to see the franchise on, presumably, the PS5 and Xbox Series X. There's little doubt that early success on the consoles could be big for Ubisoft itself, but for that to happen, Far Cry 6 needs to stick the landing. Here's how that can hap We have no idea when they will announce Far Cry 6 , but there are some things we have on our wishlist _ . _ While the _ Far Cry _ games have been received fairly positively, there are some aspects of the series that could be improved (or outright taken out). However, even when accentuated with Battlefield 's trademark capabilities of destruction , these areas don't really come to life. They simply serve as a historical backdrop for a short story, a far cry from...well, Far Cry . Of course, there's two things that need to be addressed in this comparison: genre and environmental storytell The Far Cry series loves to write entertaining villains. They don’t seem to be lacking in that department. What they do need to work on, however, are their protagonists. A villain is only as good as its hero counterp However, there's a lot of buzz around one key word for each game: location. Insiders have seemingly indicated over the course of a few weeks that Far Cry 6 's location would be "interesting" and Battlefield 6 will be modern. Yet there's little reason that Battlefield 6 can't be b After all, Far Cry 5 didn't have a definition "exotic" location, it made a location exotic. Many were surprised when they learned it was Montana, but eventually, it was a clear choice. In other words, instead of choosing something incredibly exotic, a real-world location with a twist is all it really ne Perhaps the biggest lesson Far Cry 6 can learn from its predecessors, Far Cry 5 and New Dawn , is the overall structure, but a middle ground. Far Cry 5 had a great story , intriguing gameplay, but the overall design of the missions was enough to turn off some players. Essentially, players would need to complete side activities in specific regions until their character was kidnapped and something would happen causing their release. This was repetitive, and while not overall damaging, it was detract Looking at the Far Cry franchise , it's a safe bet and likely prediction that the next game would have an interesting location. Far Cry 3 took players to the tropical Rook Island, Far Cry 4 took players into the Himalayas, and Far Cry 5 took players into the backwoods of Montana. And that's only the most recent, core entries. It's uncertain exactly where Far Cry 6 goes, but it's a sure bet that the setting will be as important as the story. In fact, it's what the franchise is known Seed created a legacy, put his family first, and had conviction in his beliefs (that turned out to be right). This idea that his insanity was actually based in something took Seed to a new level, leading fans to be happy with his surprising return in New Dawn . This added a new layer to the character, perhaps giving him more depth than others, and is something Ubisoft should replicate. The antagonists of New Dawn , Mickey and Lou, were the opposite though. They really had no depth and committed evil for evil's sake; in other words, the Far Cry 6 villain should take more after Joseph Seed than Mickey and Lou, replicating success and learning from mista Unfortunately, the on-stage demo showed what EA meant when they said Dead Space 3 would appeal to a broader audience . Namely, make it more like Gears of War . Those who had hoped for more slow and meticulously terrifying Necromorph-slaying were treated to chest-high walls, straightforward boss fights, and more dudebro-ing than a frat party ("Get some"? Really?). The game certainly looks like a lot of co-op fun, but more unlike the series to date than we had ho Ubisoft once perfect the open world action-adventure formula with its past games, namely by focusing on an interesting and eccentric villain to push it forward. An attempt at this can be seen in every game, although arguably, none are able to live up to Far Cry 3 's Vaas Montenegro.
