Overwatch shipped with 21 playable characters, but subsequent updates added support sniper Ana and sneaky hacker Sombra to the fray. More characters are expected in the future, with rumors currently flying around about actor and expert shouter Terry Crews voicing Doomfist, one of several arch villains of the Overwatch universe only referenced in hushed tones thus far. With such a diverse gallery, it's interesting to find out where some of these dynamic characters came from in the first pl Blizzard promised us new maps in 2017, and boy did they deliver! The new king-of-the-hill map Oasis was released just three days into the new year. Now that's what you call making good on a promise. With 362 more days in the year, https://Factnew.com though, Overwatch players are wondering what else may be in the works for the development team. Oasis comes chock-full of backstory as a technologically advanced utopia society, founded by eight of the world's leading scientists. Despite having killer traffic (watch out, the cars will knock you off the map!) and boasting an amazing elevator of death, the three Oasis maps are actually quite symmetrical and seemingly basic. King-of-the-hill maps are fun, but players are also hoping to see more payload or multiple objective maps in the future. And although a flashy story is nice, fans also want to see more of the places they've already seen in Overwatch 's digital shorts and comics. Can we build upon the lore a little more before expanding the unive Symmetra probably sits in about the same spot she'd sit before the recent changes to her kit. The new shield generator gives her ultimate more flexibility and her shield ability makes her far more effective in one v. one situations. Still, Symmetra has always been relegated to first-point defense in most ca Overwatch may be an elite task force with the sole purpose of destroying killer robots, but Overwatch as a game has always had a message of inclusiveness with it's global cast of heroes. Which is why it seems a little problematic that Pharah's Raindancer and Thunderbird skins allude to the cultures of certain Native American tribes, in name and design, though she is explicitly Egyptian. She is the daughter of Ana, who is also Egyptian, and was formerly enlisted in the Egyptian Army where she held the rank of Security Officer. With so much attention given to backstory and especially to the linguistic verisimilitude of the voice actors, it's difficult to pinpoint why these skins exist. Many Native American players have called for an easy solution: Give us a Native American hero. This might actually be Overwatch 's intentions, or a brilliantly crafted retcon, because Reinhardt is not stated as Pharah's father despite his romantic history with Ana. Perhaps we will get a Native American hero when Pharah's real father is revea According to the developers, Tracer, Reaper, and Widowmaker were the initial three heroes worked on by the team, with Tracer being the first. Her design is all about speed, which is why her iconic look is inspired by both fighter pilots and track athletes. As the character was refined, the creative teams ended up liking Lena so much that she automatically became the game's "mascot" despite not being intended as one. Creative director Chris Metzen even likened her to a certain wall-crawler, saying that Tracer became a " Spider-Man type character" for them, saying "She's so rad, and it feels good to leverage her in the front of story ide Much like Genji, casting the role of D.VA requires a bit of care, as much of her time is spent within the confines of a suit. When Song is required to step out of the suit and stand on her own, however, Jamie Chung is our pick to help make the character stand out. The actress' work in Big Hero 6 as the spunky, mechanically obsessed Go Go should be a pretty good indication as to what kind of magic she could bring to the screen in this r Instead, we’re opting to give Zenyatta and Winston’s voice actors the job. That approach is a little easier to argue in the case of Zenyatta, given that the robotic character’s distinctly modified tones don’t leave much room for someone to actually apply their own acting style, but there is an argument that someone could make Winston their own. However, as a non-CG Winston would likely be a pretty awkward prospect, it doesn’t seem worth it to recast the actor when you consider what a fantastic job Crispin Freeman has done with the r BEST TECHNOLOGY Battlefield 1 (EA DICE / Electronic Arts) No Man’s Sky (Hello Games) Overwatch (Blizzard Entertainment) DOOM (id Software / Bethesda Softworks) Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Naughty Dog / Sony Interactive Entertainment) Honorable Mentions: Inside (Playdead), Pokemon Go (Niantic), The Last Guardian (JAPAN Studio / Sony Interactive Entertainment), Dishonored 2 (Arkane Studios / Bethesda Softworks), The Witness (The There's always been a simple pleasure that comes from hopping into a digital world and shooting your friends.
