Bug Fables is weaponized nostalgia. Moonsprout Games set out to make a game that would bring you back to the mid-90s and early-2000s, and if you played RPGs back on the SNES or N64, then this is going to unleash all the tingly feelings of your childhood stored at the back of your br On the other end of that are games that dropped the morality system entirely, one example being Fallout 4. Ditching the Karma system wasn't a popular decision, but it did make players consider why they did what they did, rather than just making binary choices to fit the mold of a hero or villain. That's not an easy thing to accomplish, and unrooting players from a mechanic they've used for the better part of a decade is commendable, even if there's a notable shift in how well that change works. Morality in the game is by no means perfect, there were pointless decisions in Fallout 4 , and players were forced to play the hero in most situations, but it did make the smaller-scale decisions worthy of reflect It's no secret that Nintendo likes to keep its cards close to its vest when it comes to projects that are early in development. However, the big N made a very surprising reveal at the very end of its E3 2019 Direct by showing some teaser footage for a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild . The footage shows Link and Zelda exploring a dungeon below Hyrule Castle and the pair run into a reanimated corpse that could be a familiar old foe... There's still no word on when this title will arrive, but the trailer did a great job sparking discussion and hype for the ti The rumors appear to be painting not only a significant next iteration for a much-beloved franchise, but also a rich, complex, and deeply customizable RPG that will show off just how powerful the Xbox Series X has the capability to be. The excitement from fans of the franchise alone trumps a lot of other significant games in the Xbox's pipeline, with the Fable fanbase crossing their fingers in anticipation each and every time Xbox holds a major press event or confereThe city the player runs through is mostly white, matching with the dizzying heights the player runs through. Red ramps and pipes guide the player on what is interactive. The actual fighting in this game is rather dull, but it is so infrequent it never harms the experience of running through skyscrapers like a pro. Its sequel, Mirror's Edge Catalyst didn't improve in the areas the original struggled with, resulting in mixed critical reviews. One of the biggest, if not the biggest game at E3 2019, was CD Projekt RED's ambitious open world title, Cyberpunk 2077 . The CG trailer introduced fans to the male version of V, showed off lots of newer story elements and plot points, and finally gave fans what they want: An actual release date for the game. With one of the biggest questions about the title answered, the studio could've stopped there. Instead, it upped the ante even further by announcing the inclusion of Johnny Silverhand played by none other than Keanu Reev However, perhaps the most interesting portrayal of morality – one that Fable should take notes from – is that found in The Witcher 3. Choices in The Witcher 3 have real weight, in part thanks to how well the game portrays its world as being "lived-in." That manifests itself in many different ways, and on a surface level may not even look like a morality system. Geralt is, after all, a hero, but with his decisions determining who lives, who dies, and, in some cases, the well-being of entire cities, it's hard to deny the state of the world at the end of the adventure Game release date as a sort of morality system for Ger When I say this game aspires to be Paper Mario , I'm not talking about a few little touches here and there. From the second you load up Bug Fables, you will know that this is a Paper Mario game in practically every way except the name. Each character is a flat 2D model with big fat black outlines walking around a 3D world. The art style looks simplistic, as if it was drawn by a crayon-wielding kindergarten class, yet it's bursting with life and personality. Even the music evokes the soundtracks of Nintendo's games, with songs that reminded me of Final Fantasy games, Donkey Kong Country , Earthbound , and of course, the Paper Mario ser Bug Fables is pretty solid in every aspect, but I will admit to some mild frustration due to the game's dedication to being a Paper Mario tribute act. As a result of the flat style, sometimes the platforming and puzzle sections were a little awkward. Lining up certain jumps could be hard to gauge as the shadows under the characters were too light to reliably determine where I was going to land. This problem could be exacerbated if I was trying to go toward or away from the screen as the ground might not be fully visible due to the camera's position. The side view of the game could also be a hindrance to solving puzzles as it would be hard to properly aim abilities like Vi's Beemerang, which made some puzzles more annoying than they should have b
