However intriguing this auction prize may be, it still does not give fans much more concrete details about the game itself. There may be some news on the horizon, though. Jeff Grubb, noted industry insider, hinted on his podcast last week that Microsoft may currently be planning an event in which the company will discuss its intentions for Bethesda. There has been no official word about this from either company, howe There was also mention that NPCs and the cities they reside in would play a larger role in Starfield. This could simply mean larger cities with more NPCs, but it could also imply that cities and the NPCs that inhabit them will have more depth, unique mechanics, and adapt to the player’s actions and progress in the main storyl It would’ve been an unprecedented event in the gaming industry if a huge publisher would’ve said that its upcoming title wasn’t worth the wait. In other words, Bethesda’s statement consists of what players want to hear about Starfield , but it delivers zero new information about the game. The reveal, however, should be huge when it finally happens. Considering Bethesda’s tradition of keeping secrets for as long as needed and then showcasing explosive trailers packed with tons of details and gameplay demos, Starfield ’s anticipated reveal will definitely offer a lot to chatter about. When exactly it is going to happen, though, is a complete myst It’s unfortunate, but Bethesda really seems to be headed down a troubling path. While they’ve still got their name attached to the tremendous resurgence of both Doom and Wolfenstein , they’ve totally besmirched their two most iconic franchises. Nobody wants to play a broken, buggy, live-service version of Fallout 4 , and absolutely nobody wants to see Skyrim squeezed down to a mobile form factor and packed full of heinous microtransacti If that is indeed the case, it may herald a gradual overhaul of how players purchase and play games. It could lead to a phase out of physical and digital one-time purchase copies in favor of monthly subscription streaming services. Sure, the game will almost certainly release at some point in the future, but could there be more internal strife at Bethesda than we know? Could this end up being something like The Last Guardian or Duke Nukem Forever —games that were hinted at many years before they actually released? It’s hard to say for sure, but, if Bethesda continues to keep Starfield under wraps at next year’s E3, we may be in for some trou Starfield was officially announced back in 2018 , during Bethesda’s show at E3. The game reveal came in the form of a short teaser with an image of some sort of a satellite. Starfield was described as the first Bethesda’s original IP in 25 years delving into epic space adventures. That’s basically all the information about the game, which isn’t expected to release any time soon. But while there’s seemingly no end to the wait, Bethesda is trying to assure players that Starfield is worth
