The Dark Souls series paved the way for one of the best games of all time. Bloodborne is one of the best action RPGs of all time, with an incredible aesthetic, a combat system that rewards dedication and skill, and some of the greatest boss battles of all time. Bloodborne is a game that I’ve returned to several times over the years, as there is always something thrilling to be found at the end of the h The immersive qualities of Red Dead Redemption 2 can't be stated enough. The world is drop-dead gorgeous and does a great job of letting players feel like they're in the Wild West as they summon their trusty steed and gallop across the countryside, enjoying the beautiful views along the way. However, as beautiful as this game may be, there are some instances when the HUD can feel overbearing and take players out of what should be a nigh-perfect experie "More, more, more." That's the increasingly stagnant design philosophy of most AAA publishers, and at this point? It's tiring. But Nintendo made a bold proclamation with its brilliant reboot of its flagship series: "More fun, more fun, more fun." Because f or all its sweeping fantasy, its downtrodden lore, its epic scale, that's what Breath of the Wild is all about: fun. By setting players loose in an elastic, responsive world and giving them next to no restrictions, Nintendo stumbled upon what most publishers were missing out on - having a heart. That heart reinvigorated a dull genre, restored my faith in Zelda , and put every Ubisoft grind-fest to shame with great aplomb. Also, it gave us Link in Gerudo clothes, and we can all be grateful for t Charles Manson, along with Susan Denise Atkins, Leslie Van Houten, and Patricia Krenwinkel, was sentenced to death in the state of California in March of 1971, although those sentences would later be converted to life imprisonment via a ruling in the California State Supreme Court which temporarily abolished the death penalty. In the trial, it was determined Manson had created a "family" of his own making filled with younger people who he was able to mold and direct through suggestion, domination, drugs, and other methods. The jury agreed with the prosecution's evidence that, although Manson himself did not commit the murders of Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, and five others (for that particular trial, others would be held later for separate murders) himself, the fact remained he was the one who ordered the killings, making him just as culpable in such actions if not more so. Manson was a father, a priest, a God, and a Devil to his followers, and he amassed broken souls so they would carry him along and do his bidding, discarding them at his own discretion without a second thought if such an action would advance his own needs. There has never been a video game character whose actions so closely mirrored those of Charles Manson, until Dutch Van Der Linde came al What else need be said about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ? Bethesda's RPG has been ported to every feasible console; more importantly, customers keep on purchasing the 2011 game whenever it is rerelea This dialog perfectly encapsulates the dichotomy which exists in **Red Dead Redemption 2 ** , one which the story itself emulates with the main character's persistent quest for freedom and search for a life without rules or law being constantly interrupted by the forces of civilization. The story is the fulcrum point under which all of Red Dead Redemption 2 balances, occasionally teetering too far in one direction or another as it desperately tries to give equal weight to every single action taken by the player, at times to a infuriatingly tedious degree. The amount of sections in the game where the player is forced to slowly walk, usually while being talked to or, especially during the Red Dead Online sections, talked at, is in itself enough to turn off many, but underneath the massive amount of self-indulgence lies one of the most beautifully-crafted Western stories ever t Going from one of the worst action games to one of the best, Arkham City serves as the ideal blueprint showcasing how to put together the ultimate sequel. Rocksteady Studios' 2011 release adds further depth to Asylum 's smooth combat system, while also __ introducing a far bigger playground for Batman to do his th Most AAA games seem to focus their massive budgets on graphics and monetization more than quality. Red Dead Redemption managed to craft an incredibly moving western story with some tight Rockstar open world console tips|https://openworldpedia.com/-world gameplay, all while making the various environments look as breathtaking as possible. It's a masterpiece that took real effort and talent, which why it's the best AAA game made this dec I'm Commander Shepherd and this is my favorite AAA game of the decade. The first Mass Effect was a competently written RPG with a lackluster game behind it. The third Mass Effect was a slightly over-wrought story with a lackluster ending (but not riot-worthy lackluster, I should stress). Mass Effect 2 was perfect - the Seven Samurai hero collection, the brilliant characters, the fantastic cover-shooter RPG. I only wish the twist of the first ten minutes hadn't been spoiled by marketing - if I could have only gone in blin
