Lost Ark is an MMOARPG. To be more specific, it’s an isometric MMO with ARPG elements. Think of Diablo or Path of Exile , add in a bit of League of Legends , with the addition of trade skills, base-building (sort of, your island is a Clash Of Clans-style mini-game), group Raids, Chaos Dungeons, PvP Arenas, world events, sailing, a mix of classes and abilities with only a small nod at typical MMO roles (Support, Tank, etc.), and much more. Lost Ark is like a table full of food at a family event: there is something for absolutely everyone, even for the people who only eat chips and put ketchup on their Roast Dinner. How dare they. The Sharpshooter is a ranged DPS class in Lost Ark that relies on advanced bows and unique arrows to deal damage. In short, that means you're going to be dealing mostly ranged/long-range damage, with a few close-range abilities thrown in there as wWelcome to the Wardancer, an advanced class under the Martial Artist tree in Lost Ark . The Wardancer is a fast-paced melee character with some useful party-based buffs to improve your team in PvE and PvP.Much like the other Martial Artist classes, the Wardancer has some balanced builds between PvE and PvP, has a charging gauge for special abilities, and is fairly squishy. Like other classes, the Gunlancer has two: Combat Readiness and Solo KniThe Esoteric Skill Enhancement engraving is hardly used at all. This is mostly because its mild damage buffs are just not as strong as the buffs from First Intention. However, using the First Intention engraving does mean some of those more interesting Esoteric skills are less impactful. As it currently stands, however, you will be hard-pressed to find a build that features the Esoteric Skill Enhancement engraving. First Intention is by far the more popular Engraving.Thankfully, and I almost can’t believe I’m saying this, Amazon has done a good job balancing the pay-to-win microtransactions. As in, they’re gone. They have adapted the game for a Western audience - several Lost Ark creators, streamers, and other personalities have all commented on their worries about the future of the anime game events with excessive microtransactions. These worries have been addressed. Everything in the game - currently, I can’t see into the future - is optional. You do not need to pay for anything. I know I sound like a shill, but I’m just trying to be upfront about players’ expectations. Don’t spend money if you don’t want to. Lost Ark is not a game you have to rush through, meta-game, or grind ridiculously. Play the game for fun - if you like it, purchase a monthly subscription of the Aura. Pay extra for skins, if you want. That’s it.The Wardancer is a high-mobility, high burst damage, melee class that really shines in PvP arenas , although there are suitable builds for PvE. The Wardancer can build her power gauge and then unleash high-powered special abilities . Like other classes in Lost Ark, your playstyle is determined by your choice of Engraving. You'll find that the Wardancer has a fair bit of downtime between bursts, so be aware of this before you begin leveling. This guide is designed to help you make the right choice before you start working on your main. So here is our tip: during high-level endgame content you will spend your time, well, not doing much at all.The Wardancer's playstyle is determined by whether you opt for the Engraving that grants you more Orbs in your gauge (Esoteric Skill Enhancement), or the Engraving that removes the gauge entirely (First Intention). We will cover this in more detail below, but in short: the meta Wardancer build relies mostly on the second Engraving, empowering your ordinary attacks. We'll also include a short section on gameplay in T1 and beyond.Others might be wary of Lost Ark’s aesthetics. That’s fair enough. It’s a Korean MMO. It has dancing girls, moody dudes with fringes, and some truly massive swords. Some people just don’t gel with this sort of thing, and that’s alright. The endgame content is enough to carry Lost Ark regardless of its aesthetic, and I should note that the actual world design, cinematic set pieces, and the bustle of the game’s large quest hubs are all gorgeous, especially on high graphics settings. Barring any sort of launch day server chaos - which I 100 percent expect, by the way - Lost Ark is one of the smoothest games in terms of performance that I’ve played in a long time.
