First they release a lackluster base game (Destiny, Destiny 2) and then they release two awful expansions. Finally, when players are at their lowest, Bungie releases an enormous expansion ( The Taken King , Forsaken ) that fundamentally changes the game. It's a high Bungie achieved last year with Forsaken, which ushered in the best mission design, sandbox activities and post-launch content since The Taken King. But can that streak continue? Destiny 2: Shadowkeep aims to build on Forsaken's success with a new campaign, a restructured Armor system and more ways to earn loot. Does Destiny 2: Shadowkeep scare up enough quality content, or should it have remain buried on the Moon?No matter if playing a Titan, Hunter or Warlock, each subclass now comes with an additional Attunement within it adding some spectacular new powers. Take the Warlocks Dawnblade which now has Attunement of Grace allowing for a super that slams a flaming sword into the ground creating a super rift that does AoE damage, is twice as large as a regular rift and grants both healing with empowering capabilities at the same time. It’s the ultimate team work class. Get to known the new Attunements because they are more than fun -- they’re worth it. Getting these new Attunements isn’t easy, though, as Guardians will have to collect Visions of Light an item that looks like a glowing blue feather that only drops from powerful enemies. After enough have been collected, a quest will appear guiding the Guardian forward. The entire Attunement doesn’t unlock right away either, Forsaken wants the player to feel like they’ve earned being more powerful. Unlocking all the sub-classes won’t be done in a day and that’s a good thing. Endless Vale has a nice variety of pressure points for both sides, with three, round mini arenas in the middle. Shotgunners might struggle here as well, as mid-range and sniping reign supreme, at least for the middle and cliff-side poi The recurring theme with some of these good maps is that they have roughly three different pressure points that favor different playstyles. With burnout, the closed-off indoor area is fantastic in both 6V6 and 3V3. Holding the two points inside with close-range chaos can be a good strategy for players who might dislike long-range gameplay in the outside part of the a It has been nearly a year since Bungie shifted towards their evolving world, and things haven’t been perfect. However, there are absolutely a few things that 343 Industries should pay attention to when thinking about how they make Halo Infinite a platform instead of an iteratAfter nearly nine months of haranguing from disappointed fans and harsh criticism from the gaming media in general, Bungie has finally presented us with something that is wholly exciting. Destiny 2’s "Forsaken" expansion looks great, better than great even. One could even say that it looks like it contains everything Destiny 2 builds fans were expecting Destiny 2 to offer from the very beginning. Perhaps even more. Truly, it looks as if Bungie has finally heard the community’s feedback and acted upon it. That, however, only seems to be the case in regard to the content of Forsaken. Unfortunately, everything surrounding it is still classic Destiny-era Bungie. Destiny may be changing soon, but Bungie most certainly isn’t. Halo Infinite can learn much from this shift in content delivery. Having a meaningful progression of events from one season to the next immerses players much more deeply in the world in which they play. It’s a way to reward players for participating in the game throughout the year. One misstep that Bungie has experienced is that of content removal. Unfortunately, many of the headline activities of these new Destiny 2 seasons have had the bulk of their content removed at the start of the following season. Bungie attributes this to technical restraints which are understandable, but it made the game a bit punishing for players looking to take a brThere’s no justification for this other than Bungie thinking they can get away with it and they most certainly will. When Forsaken launches in September, Destiny fans will have been waiting for about a year for the game to finally become what it should have been in the first place. If Forsaken turns out to be as good as it looks, then Bungie deserves to be rewarded for it. There’s no excuse for all the scumminess surrounding it, though, especially when there are similar games like Monster Hunter World, Warframe and Rainbow Six: Siege that are all enjoying massive success without dipping into any exploitative business practices.
