Fox also mentioned in a follow-up group Q&A that they have spent a lot of time attempting to find a way to do justice to the samurai and people who suffered during the real-life Mongol invasions of Japan in the late 13th century. However, Ghost of Tsushima , while based on a real invasion, is a fictionalized story - and the names of all the samurai in the game have had their names changed in order to honor those that died on the beaches during the Mongolian invas Ghost of Tsushima tips|https://Tsushimalegend.com/ of Tsushima 's delay is a little different in that its it is entirely dependent upon The Last of Us 2' s. Reports indicate that, because of the aforementioned delay, Ghost of Tsushima was delayed further into 2020 to give the two big PS4 exclusives some breathing room, as it was supposed to launch sometime in early 2020 after TLOU 2 . It's also worth mentioning that it did not yet have an official release date, so this may not be a traditional delay. There's a possibility that the reports are wrong, but there's a high chance that they aren't. As of right now, Ghost of Tsushima does not have an official release d Coming off the success and reinvention of the franchise that was Assassin’s Creed Origins , it’s easy to see the potential in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey . Set in ancient Greece, Odyssey has the same DNA as Origins but mixes in a more focused RPG system, new twists to combat, and more for players to do moment-to-moment. Much like the transition from AC 1 to AC 2 , Odyssey feels like a refinement of the strong platform of Origins , with some added variety to boot. Massive battles and ship conflicts are just the tip of the iceb In fact, Sony's complete lack of fear regarding game delays are probably why the company has a console with what many would agree is one of the strongest exclusive libraries in the history of consoles. While it's disappointing to find out consumers will need to wait longer for exciting games, it's better that than getting them half-finished - and in the case of Ghost of Tsushima , there wasn't even a release date announced, so it's not like a late 2020 release is a change in public pl "This is a game inspired by history; we are not recreating history stone by stone. This is an original work. We absolutely love feudal Japan; it's a place that makes our imaginations go crazy. The idea of taking on a world of samurai, especially inside this dramatic situation with the Mongol invasion, is attractive. And we want to get the details right, to transport you back in time, but we don't want to run fast and loose with [the] history that real people went through. That's why the actual names of the samurai that were killed on the beach - we don't use those because we want to be respectf In most cases, this is done to give the team behind them more time to make sure the game launches at the best time and to its best quality. In other words, while many may hate having to wait just a little longer, it will hopefully result in a better game at lau "Games are moving around. Feudal Japan just happened to be a place that, as a developer, I know I was eager to spend a lot of time trying to recreate. And as a gamer, I really wanted to play an open-world samurai game. And that's just one excellent place in history - there are so many m Early trailers for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man had most convinced that the developer was headed in the right direction with its Marvel adaptation. But finally going hands-on with the game convinced us that this is exactly what fans are looking for. The swinging feels like a dream, the combat is fast-paced and offers plenty of opportunities for experimentation, and the story seems to offer fun twists on existing Spidey lore. To put it simply, Spider-Man feels like a Spider-Man game and that’s all one can hope It'll be interesting to see what path Sony takes, but for now, bets are on Ghost of Tsushima seeing some kind of PS5 support. Sony would be crazy to ignore the huge install base of PS4's (currently sitting at 100 million+ consoles), but it also needs to have something big for when the PS5 rolls around. What better than Ghost of Tsushima , a game we still don't know much ab Like with some other games on the list, Beyond Good and Evil 2 had a much better showing behind closed doors. The demo we saw offered a vision and an ambition that mixed the freedom of exploration of No Man’s Sky with the potential for deep RPG mechanics and storytelling. The former is still being worked on, but the ability to travel between planets and reach massive open world cities was easily one of the more impressive things we saw during E3 2018. If Ubisoft can pull it off, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will make fans forget that this isn't really the sequel (or prequel in this case) that they were looking If Ghost of Tsushima does release in the second half of 2020, it would be a far cry from the potential 2019 release date that many fans had hoped for at the beginning of this year. It would also make for a second PS4 exclusive delay in a short timeframe after The Last of Us 2 got the same treatment. With that said, though, game delays aren't necessarily a bad thing in the games industry - many games that were delayed over quality concerns or simply to give developers more time to execute on exciting ideas have become game of the year contend
