Sony's upcoming Sucker Punch-developed samurai story, likely one of the PlayStation 4's swan songs, is inspired by real events, but Ghost of Tsushima strays from history in a number of ways. Although Sucker Punch appears to have taken great care in nailing the game world's authenticity to real-life Japan, Ghost of Tsushima' s plot is, at least partially, purposely unfaith Ghost of Tsushima fictionalizes several elements of this history. For starters, Sucker Punch's Mongol army is led by the fictional Khotun Khan, and Tsushima's ruler is fictional, too - a man named Shimura. Events seen in Ghost of Tsushima's trailers indicate Shimura's battle with the Mongols goes just about as well as it did in real life, but it appears Shimura survives, and so does his nephew, protagonist Jin Sakai. Given he's the playable character, it's no surprise Jin forms the basis of Ghost of Tsushima' s largest departure from history. Rather than being a stand-in for an actual person like Kublai Khan, Jin is essentially a stand-in for 1274's kamikaze . As Sucker Punch Game Director Nate Fox told Variety , "Our hero isn’t a hurricane, he’s a man, and we actually acknowledge that change with his sword that’s engraved with storm wind desig While the storm could end up impacting the Mongols at some point in the game, too, Jin will at least help it out significantly, fighting off the invading soldiers himself. This will require players to adopt a "samurai commando" fighting style , using stealth tactics and the Mongols' bombs against them. Along with the historical changes, Sucker Punch noted at E3 2018 that the game's Tsushima Island itself is being reinterpreted to better suit a video game, with added locations to provide players more points of interest. Fans will be able to learn more about the game's historical roots after it's released, as several of the Ghost Of Tsushima Guide|Https://Tsushimagame.Com/ of Tsushima special editions come with a director's commentary that compares it to real life with the help of a Japanese histor There is concern about the release dates of upcoming video games shifting to account for the coronavirus crisis, especially following the recent announcement of The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR getting delayed with no new release date forthcoming. It's likely publisher Sony doesn't want these games to release in an environment where players won't be able to go out to get physical copies of them. It's also possible they're concerned that Naughty Dog's game, with its bleak themes and post-apocalyptic setting, might not be the best fit for the current state of the wo Sucker Punch is one of the most admired developers in the gaming industry, and perhaps best known for creating the Sly Cooper and Infamous series of games. In 2011, Sony purchased Sucker Punch to produce games exclusively for PlayStation. Sucker Punch has always worked within short development windows, with the longest period in between releasing games being four years. The length between the release of the Studio's last game Infamous First Light and the scheduled release of Ghost of Tsushima will be six years, prompting some to wonder if the game would be better off debuting on the PlayStation The highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima will release in the Summer of 2020. Fans around the world have been wondering when the big-budget samurai slasher would finally get a release date, with many speculating that the game would release in the second half of 2020 . But now developer Sucker Punch has confirmed the release window for Ghost of Tsushima will be Summer 2 The final cherry on top of my pre-release anticipation for Ghost of Tsushima has also just been due to how serious Sucker Punch is taking the source material here. Developers at the studio have talked openly about how much research has gone into this project which has included multiple trips to Japan and working with actual swordmasters . Not to mention, the full game is going to feature optional Japanese voice acting with English subtitles to really entrench yourself in the experience even further. Aspects like this won't make or break Ghost of Tsushima , but it shows just that Sucker Punch is committed to making this not just an enjoyable game, but one that is highly-authentic as w Although not as big as _ The Last of Us 2, _ _ Iron Man VR _ also comes out in May after it was delayed earlier this year. The game has the player flying around as Iron Man in first-person camera and is likely to be a memorable PSVR ti There are a lot of big March 2020 games coming out for PS4 (and other platforms in general too), and with that many games, there really is something for everybody.
