Despite being an abandoned Imperial outpost, Raven Rock is undeniably Dark Elven. Its architecture, clothing, and the characters’ accents are all reminiscent of Morrowi Lovecraft's Azathoth and The Elder Scrolls ' Godhead are both consciousnesses that exist beyond reality. Lovecraft's other powerful beings like Cthulhu are still ultimately subject to the subconsciousness of the Blind Idiot God, while Tamriel's Nine Divines are still just figments of the Godhead's dream The world of Avowed Weapons is full of interesting races. There are the more traditional humans, elves, and dwarves, but also the diminutive furry Orlans , the mysterious Godlike, and the giant coast-dwelling Aumaua. Despite being far from their homes, the different settlements of the Living Lands could show how these different races try to preserve their cultures while facing down the seemingly endless expanse of a frontier that risks swallowing them wh Grounded stands out among the list of current projects at Obsidian Entertainment, as it has technically already been released but just in Early Access. It's a survival RPG where players embody a person who has been shrunk and must survive the terror of creatures like bees and spiders in a backyard. Grounded is in early access and has already seen several updates with new content, and this looks set to continue for some time. The unique game has resonated well with gamers and critics alike and will likely be a big focus for Obsidian going forward until and probably after it has received a full rele CHIM and the Godhead may rarely be touched upon in The Elder Scrolls games, but "the mantlings of an uncaring godhead" are explicitly mentioned in Hermaeus Mora's Black Book "Waking Dreams of a Starless Sky." A lack of guns may end up making the world of Avowed more similar to Tamriel, but that may be a necessary sacrifice in order to get the first-person fantasy RPG formula to work smoot This is particularly noticeable in the second game, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire . The sequel let players get behind the wheel of a galleon and fire cannons, though the first game also had a clear early-modern slant to its technology. In the original Pillars of Eternity , players witnessed the creation of a powerful weapon known as the Godhammer Bomb which combined magical know-how with the expertise of artillery specialists to make an explosive powerful enough to kill a god's ava It is possible that guns may still exist in Avowed , even if the game is set some time before the Pillars of Eternity games. Avowed will be set in the Living Lands , a wild northern frontier filled with competing factions and strange beasts. It may be that the Living Lands are less technologically developed than the heart of Eora's empires, but that more modern technology like guns can still be fo With the support of The Outer Worlds winding down, it's easy to imagine that Grounded will receive some additional development support as it edges closer to moving past early access. Grounded's community has exceeded 5 million players which could help ensure a long and exciting future. While there is certainly a sizeable scale to consider here, Grounded is arguably not the biggest project in the works at Obsidian Entertainment right With the release of Murder on Eridanos, Obsidian can move on and reassign its resources to the several other projects it has in the works, with at least one of them being large in scope.
