Ion Fury is a blast from the past: a retro-styled FPS with fast action and extreme violence. However, it also brings back another element from those old school shooters, which is the return of the foul-mouthed, rather mean-spirited protagonist. Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison is cut from the same cloth as heroes like Duke Nukem, and while they definitely can be pretty awesome, they're not necessarily the type of people you'd actually want to hang out with after they saved your lives. Hanging out with these kinds of heroes seems like a chore, as all they'll want to talk about is how cool they were then they blew up that alien spaceship, and their idea of humor is repeating the same Bruce Campbell quotes over and over.However, if you got to know B.J., you'd find that he's actually a very nice person once you wash away all the gore. He's very loyal to both his country and his wife, he's vehemently against racism and fascism, he'll do anything for his friends, and he has strong family values (although he did kill his dad, but that guy sucked, so it's alright). Everyone he runs into who's not a member of the Third Reich eventually takes a strong liking to old Blazko, and while being a one-man army probably helps with that, we like to think it's also due to the fact that he's just a stand-up guy. There are only a few badasses in gaming who seem like they would willing to help you move, but B.J. definitely seems like one of the good ones. Micah Bell defecting to the Pinkertons is a subject of much contention among the game's community. It's unclear whether he was captured and forced to spy on the Van Der Linde gang in exchange for his life, or if he went to them in free will in hopes of creating the best situation for himself. Given his selfish personality and willingness to turn friends on one another the latter option is the one that makes the most sense canonically. Rockstar Games will likely never explain why he defected, but that doesn't mean a lingering mystery needs to be solIs a machine not working properly? He'll find the switch or plug that'll make it work. Too many Combine soldiers getting in the way of the resistance fighters? Don't worry, he'll crowbar them to death for you. Need to vent about your worries regarding the end of humanity as we know it? Feel free to talk away, as Gordon is an excellent listener. He doesn't speak much, but he's a true blue friend, and he even doesn't mind picking up the beer tab, as long you get him back after this whole alien war business is taken care of. Red Dead Redemption wasn't the only Rockstar game to receive excellent additions in story DLC. From LA Noire to Max Payne 3 , Rockstar kept a habit of giving players quality story content on top of their original titles for years. The pinnacle of Rockstar's story DLC though, has to be from Grand Theft Auto IV. Like Red Dead 2 and GTA V , GTA IV has a story as good as any film, but Rockstar built upon that story in unique and imaginative ways through The Lost And Damned and The Ballad Of Gay Tony . While one installment has you playing as a biker struggling with the collapse of his gang, and the other a bodyguard for a celebrity night club owner, both run in parallel with GTA IV , adding depth to the story and life to Liberty City. GTA IV' s story DLC fleshed out its world, creating an experience with more depth and character to it. The content was so good that it makes you wonder what Rockstar might have been able to come up with if they would had taken story DLC for GTA V seriously. Unfortunately, it seems like that window has come and gone, and the potential has fa Although GTA Online has been wildly successful, the same can't be said for its uglier, younger stepbrother, Red Dead Online . Although the online platform has moved on from a few of its growing pains, it clearly can't measure up to the undeniable success of its counterpart. Most of this is certainly due to the time period in which the Red Dead Redemption series __ takes place. The fact of the matter is, rocket launchers, airplanes, and sports cars provide for much more entertainment than Civil-War-era guns, horses, and fishing. With the wide range of vehicles and weapons at its disposal, it's no wonder why Rockstar's online layout works far better in the world of Grand Theft Auto . Despite that, Rockstar is giving it all of their effort to make Red Dead Online work. Effort that could quite possibly be put to better use if it were to be refocused on a DLC project that touched on the back stories of characters like Charles Smith, and Sean MacGuire, or better yet, Undead Nightmare 2 , a would-be sequel to the original Red Dead Redemption's near perfect zombie-based story Story DLC provides Rockstar with the opportunity to build on the world of its stories, giving fans of its distinct narrative style a chance to dive even further into their favorite worlds, and return to their favorite games. Although online multiplayer certainly brings the opportunity to have an absolute blast with other players who love the same game, there is something special about experiencing the world of a story that you love from another point of view. When you're fully invested into a game expansions's story, especially one from Rockstar, you'll be interested in hearing anything and everything that adds context to the narrative or builds upon the lore of that given world. It can often times become intoxicating, and like most intoxicating activities, you really want to experience it again once it goes a
