Insider Tom Henderson, who has previously shared accurate information about the latest Modern Warfare and Black Ops releases before release, is now dropping reveals about the next Battlefield game set to be released sometime in 2021 . Replying to user Usman, who tweeted about his own love and nostalgia for Battlefield 3 , Henderson replied saying, "you'll be a happy bunny next year then" with a little smiley face for his followers. Afterwards, Henderson explained his vague statement clarifying that he was not referring to a remaster of Battlefield 3 - which another (and less reliable "insider" ) has claimed is also happening - but rather, the next installment of the franchise. Battlefield 6 , he claims, is a modern-set game which seems all but obvious anyway at this point given the response to the last several BF games and the record-setting popularity of Call of Duty's long overdue return to a modern setting in Modern Warfa
According to IGN, EA has reconfirmed that DICE will release Battlefield 6 in 2021. After DICE creative director Dennis Brännvall released the news regarding Star Wars: Battlefront 2’s final content update, EA gave a statement to IGN assuring the community that DICE would continue to support both Battlefield V and Battlefront 2 for the next couple years. EA then added that gamers will " be getting a new DICE Battlefield game next year: ‘Longer term, the studio is focused on the future of Battlefield that we’ll be bringing to players in 2021.
Having sold eight million copies in its first month, and scoring 89% on Metacritic for its PC version, Battlefield 3 was one of the most popular games in the series and helped push the series into the mainstream even more as a legit competitor against Call of Duty . Battlefield 4 continued that, also embracing the same modern setting, and both games remain arguably the most favored in the series. As for the BF3 remaster rumors, that seems odd and inexplicable at this point to re-release a modern set game alongside a new modern set game, splitting a player base they so desperately need to keep large to support large player cou
In a game like Battlefield , Gunsmith almost makes more sense to include than in Modern Warfare . Weapon balance in Battlefield has been spotty at times, but the expanded weapon customization introduced in Battlefield 3 compensated for that in a big way. If anything, expanding the systems that were introduced in Battlefield 2042 Weapons|https://battlefield2042hq.com/ 3 and 4 into a Gunsmith-like system could help differentiate teammates/opponents from each other. Since every player picks one of four soldier classes, there'd be a lot of overlap between players' choice of weapon and equipment. Classes were constraining to a specific gameplay style, like how engineers were almost strictly close-range fighters with S
While the games are often praised for their intense gameplay that rewards strategy and skill, Battlefield 5 never quite met the standard of its predecessors. EA changed its model to live service, foregoing the "Premium Pass" offered by previous games in favor of gradual free updates for everyone. As a consequence, Battlefield 5 was light on content at release, and not all of the updates were able to completely rectify that, including its disappointing Battle Royale mode . EA has said the live service model would continue for the next installment in the Battlefield franchise, despite the middling reception it recei
Battlefield 6 , or whatever it ends up being called, will be the twelfth game in the series that started all the way back in 2002 with the original and beloved Battlefield 1942 . So far we have seen games set in the present, the past, the near future and even the far off future with the fourth game, Battlefield 2142 . The games in this series are all first-person shooters, and tend to focus on large-scale, high player count multiplayer with vehicles and destructible environments. There is an emphasis on teamwork throughout the games, although the latter entries also feature single-player campaigns in an effort for the franchise to better compete with Call of Du
In terms of what was specifically shown, the gameplay from DICE is very ambiguous. It's clearly an early prototype of gameplay for the next Battlefield game, but the assets themselves don't appear to be any different from Battlefield 5 . It's very possible the prototype gameplay shown was a repurposing of assets from Battlefield 5 showcasing what next-gen processing is capable of. That being said, it shows about around a hundred of what appear to be rendered models (all potentially players) moving in a single space. There also was a scene showing a building collapsing, which was more than likely showcasing a new version of Battlefield 's Destruction physics. Lastly, there were a few close-ups of an indistinct soldier's face rendered in high detail, though it wasn't clear if this was next-gen graphics rendered in-eng
