The first set of the NieR: Automata videos will no doubt prove incredibly interesting to fans of the original. NieR: Automata 's demo is finally running on our PS4 consoles, giving everyone a taste of PlatinumGames' signature action in a JRPG flavor. Not only it looks lovely and plays even better, it also comes with at least part of its promised PS4 Pro support.

Nier: Automata is a game fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting and even has a demo available. So what makes Nier so important and what does it have to offer gamers? Well, for one, the series is known for its dark tone (sorry Yoko) and almost horror-like storytelling with settings to match. The narrative of Nier and its parent game Drakengard have overly-depressing and somber narratives. Nothing good really happens in these games and it would be a safe bet that Nier: Automata will follow suit. The storytelling in these games is about as adult as they come (make sure kids aren’t around when playing). For anyone who hasn’t played the original Drakengard, go play it: it comes highly recommend. It wasn’t mind blowing by any means, but what it was doing for gaming was something drastically different.


Fans of the original NieR Automata Upgrades|Https://Nierautomatafans.Com/ have always felt that the game was unfairly overlooked, and that 2010’s action RPG is one of the hidden gems of the last console generation. When another game in the franchise in the form of NieR: Automata was revealed at E3 2015, many were excited about what the title would bring when it saw release. Now, publisher Square Enix and developer Platinum Games have perhaps revealed what the sequel may have in store, through videos released in the wake of a new NieR event that took place on April


NieR: Automata  will release in Japan for PS4 on February 23rd, in North America on March 7th, and in Europe on March 10th, 2017. A PC version is also scheduled to come next year, but no release window has been announced for that one. It's definitely a hotly anticipated game. The title also looks to have close ties to the original game, taking place after the events of the first NieR . Although Square Enix has previously stated that it works well as a stand alone title, it will be interesting to see exactly how well NieR: Automata functions as a solo game. Nonetheless, with Platinum Games on board and making the game its own , it’s bound to be a thrilling r

What you see here is a test level where we check characters’ animations to make sure they’re ready to go in the game. We also use this level to try out visual effects, like the sword arc you can see above, as well as special effects like clouds of dust, explosions and more.

As an animator first and foremost, there’s a lot you can’t help but want to leave in. But you’re not making a movie here – you’re making a game, and it has to be tight and responsive. The truest sign of a skilled game animator is their ability to make something great with the number of frames they’re given.

In all our previous projects, we sound designers made individual settings for echoes to fit the exact shape of each area in the game. However, since NieR: Automata takes place in a more open world, it would take a massive amount of work to do it that way. We’re aiming to cut down on all that effort while creating a realistic soundscape for the game by using a system that can manage echoes on the fly.


It remains to be seen whether the title can have a larger influence on the gaming community as a whole, however. Although the original NieR , which itself was a spin-off of the Drakengard series, was fairly well received by players if not critics, Square Enix will no doubt have been disappointed to see the lack of mark that it left as a whole upon its release.
