credential loop in Microsoft 365 Tried CC cleaner to clean up registry and everything -- also keep in Office 365 sync problems and login fixes mind this is a fairly recent reinstall of windows. I am unable to stay signed in to my work account on Teams, Outlook, Office365 for more than 5 minutes. Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support. Create your account and connect with a world of communities. Microsoft 365 Login Loop because of MFA If this box is greyed out or disabled then you need to reset the Windows Credential Manager first. @Microsoft, given the level of attention the community has given this issue, I hope you come up with an update soon. We have been experiencing the exact same issue for months now. I experience the issue myself as well, every once in a while. I am unable to stay signed in to my work account on Teams, Outlook, Office365 for more than 5 minutes.I cannot find the phone number again to contact MS Office support (eventually they were helpful, but only after insisting they help!), I'm in the Netherlands so if someone has a phone number, I'd love to get it again.Office 2016 is already Modern Authentication aware so APP passwords are not required.Clear the Windows Credential manager or recreate the users Outlook profile. We had the issue where Outlook 2016 kept prompting for a password for an Office 365 user whose laptop was connected to their Office 365 account using Windows 10 Pro.Problem doesn’t just happen on PC’s connected to the internal network, but can happen when a laptop is remote and connected via external wifi or mobile hotspot.Checking the Account in Word showed the correct authentication and subscription. Fix constant sign-in prompt for Microsoft I created a new Outlook profile, and then the Outlook sync help from FixTechGuide old one started working. I wonder if the compuer cached a new logon token or something that the old Outlook profile could use. Also, during the new profile creation, I was only prompted for a password and not for MFA. When we opened the old, existing profile it didn’t ask for ANY authentication, it just started working. Outlook stuck in an MFA loop credential loop in Microsoft 365 The problem appears to randomly affect users (I’ve had it affect myself once too), and the only solution appears to one of (or a combination of) the options in the OP. Out of 140 staff the problem seems to occur once every 2-3 weeks on average. In this case are you saying that there is a password prompt for the users credentials? Clear the Windows Credential manager or recreate the users Outlook profile. Office 365 desktop apps infinite authentication loop -- asking to reintroduce details forever / activate office I disabled the Zoom and Adobe PDF plugins and it stopped prompting me immediately. My client’s Outlook will only continuously ask for the password after MFA is enforced and Office.com has been logged troubleshoot Outlook synchronizing folders error in. It would be nice if it distinguished between your password and the app password. You may have to rebuild/restore your outlook folder/files which is a pain. I’d do that one step at a time, forgoing the restore of the cached files.
