Well, the problem with Shurelya's is that, for a tank mythic, it doesn't give enough defensive stats. 150 extra health isn't enough to justify the trade-off from losing the resistances of Locket of the Iron Solari. In terms of offensive power for enchanters and mages, Imperial Mandate is just so much more effective. Shurelya's Battlesong isn't a totally useless item, but it has no purp
** Max Grossman: ** For the initial characters that we've launched, most started with just their toolkits and different abilities. However, there was at least a "theme" in mind. Phoenix is a good example. He was always going to be fiery in some capacity—he throws a molotov and is reborn from the ashes, that kind of thing. Viper was the same. She started as this toxic, gas wielding character. But discovering that she was a scientist came later in the development process. Killjoy is a fascinating example since she started as a literal robot. So that component was very different at one point in time, but even then, she still had two of her four abilities that shipped with the final version of the character. Some of the characters change a lot, others not so m
Players can use a few of these attacks in combination to do increased damage against enemies. One option is to use Unstoppable Force, then wait until the very last second the enemies are in the air from the attack and use Ground Slam. This will maximize damage and inhibit enemies from dealing quite as much damage to the team. For another potential combo, players can cast Flash, then use Unstoppable Force to travel farther and appear unexpecte
When Jinx triggers Get Excited (Passive), takedowns on structures and champions give her a movement and attack speed boost. This works well with her switching weapons, as Switcheroo (S1) gives her AOE or fast single-target options. Meanwhile, Zap (S2) gives her a stun, while Flame Chompers (S3) is a rooting trap ability. Lastly, her Super Mega Death Rocket (Ultimate) is a devastating AOE that can take down Champions in fierce firefig
For a thousand years, Viego's goal has been to resurrect Isolde no matter the cost. Unfortunately, Senna stated doing so "will destroy this world" as the Black Mist and Shadow Isles previously demonstrated. Because of this, Viego's past actions and current motives have painted him as the current big bad in League Of legends universe of Legends . But while there have been multiple world-ending threats throughout Runeterra's history, the Ruined King himself may succeed in uniting the various regions towards a common goal once m
Additionally, her Surround Sound (S2) shields allies and gives them movement speed as well as healing. Lastly, Encore (Ult) damages and slows enemies on a line that extends if it touches enemy Champions and other all
During the first patch of the preseason, the marksman mythic items were a bit sad. They were bad enough that many marksmen opted into going lethality to synergize with The Collector. After some adjustments, however, they've started to gain some serious power. It's arguable which one is the best, but Galeforce is the most well-rounded opt
** Max Grossman: ** Mostly, our skin has gotten thicker. That would be my biggest takeaway. Like with Killjoy's turret, there was a lot of skepticism online, and internally that's something that you see and go, "oh god, are we doing the right thing?" For me, it helped build some of that armor and confidence that we weren't ruining the game, which feels good. Chances are if the community is skeptical about an Agent, we are too while designing them. While making a turret character for Valorant, we thought, "well, can we? Can it be good?" A turret that sits there and kills people betrays the promise of our game. So when we see a bunch of people online that feel that same way, I empathize. However, once someone gives a new Agent a spin, I always hope they realize how much work we put in before releasing anything in Valor
Blitzcrank might appear as a jolly mechanical giant, but he’s a behemoth to behold as a tank and support Champion. His arsenal consists mainly of a high-armor ultimate, knock-up opportunities, and stunning potential - making him a suitable Champion in the Baron L
Night Harvester's passive deals a sizeable amount of damage to each individual champion, along with providing movement speed to the user. Assassins like Akali can go absolutely crazy in short skirmishes. Alternatively, Riftmaker boosts damage based on duration in combat, along with providing some excellent Omnivamp healing. Assassins and bruisers alike can use Riftmaker to dominate fights and get out without a scra
** TheGamer: ** When designing Agents, one goal is to create characters who will make for exciting team comps. However, I was curious if you ever develop Agents specifically to be "appealing" or "easier" for new players? I got the impression that Killjoy might be an Agent meant for newb
** Max Grossman: ** Very important. It's something that I know tangentially, as we have guys on our art teams that are hyper dedicated to this stuff, but I can give you my layman's take on it. The most important thing is that every Agent stands out in the environments in some capacity. No camouflaged-looking dudes running through the environment cause if somebody is shooting at you, we don't want players ever to go, "Huh, where could they be in the environment?" Valorant isn't a hidden-object game. It's about you knowing someone's there and you can have a fight with them. The bright yellow jacket is pushing the extremes of what we are trying to do in that super high visibility. But it's a super important consideration for
