Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week, Reggie discussed the great success that the Switch has been enjoying, but also a couple of recent shortcomings of the system. One major one being: Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t on

Rumors of an upcoming Switch port of Rockstar’s recently-released Red Dead Redemption 2 were all but put to rest a few months ago when the now-retired Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime announced in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that the game wouldn’t be making an appearance on the hybrid gaming machine. Though his statements seemed pretty finite at the time, speculation concerning RDR2 on the Switch has once again stirred thanks to an Australian Target shopping catalog

Overall, CD Projekt Red believes that the final stages of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077's development will "be better than The Witcher ’s finishing period" in terms of crunch. While this all sounds great on paper, Kotaku also highlighted that some crunch may still exist within the studio following this shift and that the development of Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't gone as smoothly as the general public may perceive it. One anonymous former CD Projekt Red developer even told Kotaku that "I’ve felt that there are hundreds of parallels that could be drawn between the story of the rocky development of Anthem and the story of the rocky and even-more-rocky-to-become development of Cyberpunk 20

While crunch may not completely dissipate, hopefully CD Projekt Red does stick to its word and end Cyberpunk 2077's development with a period that's light on stress like Marcin Iwiński is suggesting: "I think this is the commitment we’re ready to make today, and we’ll be listening to people. We definitely open a lot of lines of dialogue here, and we’d like to start with th

"Absolutely. We’d love for it to be there. But again — and this is where there needs to be an understanding of just the development process — Red Dead has been in development for years, time that predated any communication of Nintendo Switch. So, from the developer’s mentality, they need to move forward and finish the game they’ve been working on and then be in a position to look at other opportuniti

As anybody who’s spent time with the game will tell you, Red Dead 2 is a game of vast possibilities, dizzying scope and… well, it could be one of the all-around biggest games ever made, in terms of the world and freedom to traverse it. Is this really something the Switch could have handled? It’s all moot anyway because it didn’t happen and isn’t likely to, but there it

Back when Reggie Fils-Amie denied rumors of a Switch port, he emphasized the fact that it hadn’t been shot down due to hardware restrictions —according to him, the Switch is more than capable of running the game. It was more an issue of the game having been under development far before the idea of the Switch was even being tossed around. What’s more, with rumors of Nintendo gearing up to release a VR add-on alongside a new and improved pro version of the console, it doesn’t seem like horsepower would necessarily keep RDR2 off of the sys

"Any game from a key third-party that’s coming out now, typically that development started well before any conversations about Nintendo Switch… that’s how you wind up with a situation with Red Dead Redemption 2 map|https://Reddeadwildland.com/ Dead not being available on our platfo

A physical edition of the catalogue included Nintendo’s console alongside the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on the list of compatible gaming machines, and fans seem to think this may indicate an upcoming announcement on the part of either Nintendo or Rockstar. There may be some credibility to these claims; Walmart Canada infamously let slip that Bethesda’s Rage 2 and Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 3 were forthcoming well in advance of their official announcements, and this could be yet another example of a retailer jumping the

Unfortunately, Target has since corrected their Red Dead Redemption 2 listing on their website to state that it would only be available for the PS4 and Xbox One. This likely means that any mention of the Switch alongside Rockstar’s game was a simple error, though it’s worth noting that other titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V were correctly listed in the magaz

The kicker here seems to be that, while audiences would no doubt be extremely receptive to a Switch translation of the record-setting game, it might not be all that feasible. While AAA titles like 2016’s Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Collossus have received Switch ports, games as visually detailed and ambitious as RDR2 are few and far between on the system. It may be true that Nintendo managed to cram something as expansive and marvelous as Breath of the Wild onto a Switch cartridge, but the fact remains that, were Rockstar’s game to come to the console, it would likely come with more than a few caveats and restricti
