Currently, you can't use Outlook on Windows to edit calendars that are shared with your Outlook.com account, even if you've reconnected your Outlook.com account to Outlook. We're working to make it possible to edit shared calendars in Outlook 2016 for Windows. If you are having issues sending email, this might be due to validation issues with your Microsoft Account. We are aware that some users may not be able to receive email from Gmail accounts.
For contacts, you can select Filter in the upper right to select what to display in the list and how to sort. If you decide you don't want the calendar you created, right-click the calendar and select Remove. To show or hide the Folders list, select Show or Hide the navigation pane. Calendar events can be used for your own personal event, or you can invite others to create an in-person or Teams meeting.
The loading of unregistered MAPI services has been disabled by office365emailfix.blogspot.com/2025/10/fix-outlook-not-sending-or-receiving.html default to make Outlook more secure. This occurs because custom form script is now disabled by default. None of the events or information was lost in the move to the new calendar. The Family group calendar now appears in the Outlook.com groups area in the left nav on Outlook web and in the groups area of the Outlook mobile app.
Get Help has troubleshooters for classic Outlook for Windows you can run for many common scenarios, such as Outlook startup or profile setup problems. These often help resolve issues without the need to contact support. New features like Files and attachment previews let you see your pictures and files without leaving your inbox. Right-click a task for a list of options, or select a task to see and manage its details. Shows contacts or contact lists depending on what you selected in the left pane.
Get Help has troubleshooters you can run for many common scenarios. If a troubleshooter is available for your issue, select Start to run that troubleshooter. Occasionally, classic Outlook tries to run a process in the background. Auto-archive, sending and receiving a very large attachment, or running some of the other mailbox tools can all be done in the background.
Right-click the folder, and then click Properties to check your permissions for the folder. See the folder owner or your administrator to change your permissions. There is currently no option to revert to the prior behavior, but we would love to hear your feedback to help us with future designs.
This might be slowing down or overriding other commands in Outlook. To disable this feature, you'll need to edit the Windows Registry. It's incredibly common to have Outlook crash because of a corrupted PST office365emailfix.blogspot.com/2025/10/fix-outlook-not-sending-or-receiving.html file. Updating your Outlook may conveniently solve the issues you're experiencing.
Not something you want to take on lightly, but sometimes you have to. Similar to our earlier suggestion of repairing Office (see #3 Repair Your Microsoft Office above), perform the same steps except choose to Uninstall. Be aware that you may need your product key if you received one. Microsoft has its own tool for automatically scanning and correcting Office when things go awry.
There’s nothing in particular to warn you about, as there are many informational and diagnostic information there, but reading the entries may lead to a clue about what’s going wrong. If you have Outlook in your startup folder, remove the shortcut from the startup folder. If anyone finds a more permanent solution, I would appreciate it. It seems like something went wrong on Microsoft update and they might recall it or fix it, so we might need to wait untill that. A vast community of Microsoft Office365 users that are working together to support the product and others. Most Outlook problems can be resolved with proper troubleshooting and maintenance.
While these Microsoft accounts work in other Microsoft products (e.g. OneDrive, Windows, Xbox), they are non-functional when visiting Outlook.com. Outlook.com (the web version of Outlook) and Outlook apps require a 1st party alias (Outlook/Hotmail/Live/MSN) to send and receive email, use calendar, etc. Occasionally, classic Outlook tries to run a process in the background. Check the status bar at the bottom of the screen to see if another process is running. If so, wait a short time (usually two or three minutes) to see if Outlook starts working again.
