The Streets of Rage series returned in 2020 following an incredibly long hiatus. The long wait for a sequel proved worthwhile, as Streets of Rage 4 is one of the best beat-em-ups since the third title. Comparatively, its story is simplistic compared to Yakuza. Moreover, there is little freedom outside combat. However, the fighting system is the perfect throwback for fans of the street brawling in Yaku

There were also a few details as it pertains to the story, with Albion and Aurora understood to be completely destroyed following the Mad King causing an asteroid to hit the planet by rebuilding the Spire. A world rebuild is necessary but there is another asteroid on the way, sadly. However, Fable's Theresa and the Heroes Guild managed to survive by going through a demon door, while Jack Blades is set to make a return.

Fans had probably given up on the Fable series and that was probably fair as it did seem dead. In the run-up to E3, though, rumors began swirling, with Fable 4 being talked up as leaks emerged. Naturally, there was an expectation, especially with the Microsoft crew informing us beforehand that they would have lots in store at the event. They were certainly telling the truth about that, but we imagine lots of Fable fans were let down by the complete blank.

Molyneux has become well known at this point for his big and revolutionary ideas, which often end up being beyond the scope of the reality of the games he develops. When the original Fable launched on the original Xbox in 2004, it did not quite have that grand journey that had been promised (although it was close). But, now 16 years later, perhaps technology and design have progressed enough to allow some of those promises and dreams for Fable to finally become a real
