It is hard to talk about Driver: San Franciso without mentioning how hard it is to obtain. This incredible driving game from Ubisoft can only be obtained through sketchy grey-market websites or through pirating a copy.
When I say this game aspires to be Paper Mario , I'm not talking about a few little touches here and there. From the second you load up Bug Fables, you will know that this is a Paper Mario game in practically every way except the name. Each character is a flat 2D model with big fat black outlines walking around a 3D world. The art style looks simplistic, as if it was drawn by a crayon-wielding kindergarten class, yet it's bursting with life and personality. Even the music evokes the soundtracks of Nintendo's games, with songs that reminded me of Final Fantasy games, Donkey Kong Country , Earthbound , and of course, the Paper Mario ser
Fans had probably given up on the Fable series and that was probably fair as it did seem dead. In the run-up to E3, though, rumors began swirling, with Fable 4 being talked up as leaks emerged. Naturally, there was an expectation, especially with the Microsoft crew informing us beforehand that they would have lots in store at the event. They were certainly telling the truth about that, but we imagine lots of Fable fans were let down by the complete blank.
There were also a few details as it pertains to the story, with Albion and Aurora understood to be completely destroyed following the Mad King causing an asteroid to hit the planet by rebuilding the Spire. A world rebuild is necessary but there is another asteroid on the way, sadly. However, Fable's Theresa and the Heroes Guild managed to survive by going through a demon door, while Jack Blades is set to make a return.
Compared to the likes of Oblivion , Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning focused on making engaging combat with incredibly flexible character customization. This game did flexible classes before Skyrim did. Gothic is unique because it treats the world like a realistic place with magic and large threats. Most NPCs look out for themselves and the combat in this game is brutality incarnate. There is a charm to this game, however, that sets it apart from the likes of Skyrim or The Witcher . When you grow more powerful in this game, it feels earned. It encourages you to think outside of the box to exploit NPCs and finish quests. It never received a large following, however, something a reboot could help fix.

Project Gotham Racing was a launch title for the original Xbox and earned a great deal of acclaim at the time of its release, spawning three sequels that all earned strong reviews as well. Project Gotham Racing 4 , the most recent entry in the series, also earned strong reviews from critics and fans alike, but for one reason or another, Microsoft has abandoned the IP. Perhaps Microsoft made this decision so it could focus exclusively on Forza , but it would still be nice to see Project Gotham Racing make a comeback on the Xbox Series X.
