All in all, we have seen very little about Ghost of Tsushima , which is why I think I have such a close eye on it this year. Compared to other major releases that are coming up in 2020 ( Cyberpunk 2077 , Final Fantasy VII Remake , DOOM Eternal ) I feel like there are many relatively unknown factors with Ghost of Tsushima . Heck, news on the game went so quiet in 2019 that many started questioning whether or not it would end up just altogether becoming a PS5 game . That obviously won't be the case, but it speaks to how silent Sony has been with this ti
While many video game enthusiasts will likely have their hands full for the immediate future with titles like Resident Evil 3 , Doom Eternal , and Final Fantasy VII Remake , it's easy to look at games on the horizon and wonder when they'll see the light of day. There are even persistent rumors that next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X might not hit their 2020 launch windows, or that, if they do, they will be in exceedingly short sup
Ghost of Tsushima looks to be properly mind-blowing, with each trailer boasting some of the most incredible visuals ever seen on the PlayStation 4 hardware. If Ghost of Tsushima is the final PlayStation 4 exclusive on Sony 's docket, it is shaping up to be a phenomenal swan song for the system – sporting a suitably fantastic Collector's Edition,
While the PS4 has seen its fair share of sequels or reboots of older properties from PlayStation's past ( God of War , Infamous: Second Son, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End ), Sony has also brought about entirely new worlds and characters for us to fall in love with for the first time. In a time where many games that are released annually have started to feel a bit derivative and by-the-numbers, PS4 exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn , Death Stranding , and Until Dawn have been some of the most captivating and enjoyable games for me on a personal level these past few years just because of how fresh they f
2020 is bringing tons of new weapons to the world, and while not all of them are exclusive to any system, PS4 players will still be able to plug and play a number of the biggest titles of the year. Some of the non-exclusives include games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Dying Light 2 , bringing fantastic new titles to multiple syst
The follow up to Team Ninja's Nioh from 2017, Nioh 2 is looking to be the best in its class for 2020, perhaps even topping the plethora of Souls-like games from 2019 that flooded the market. To this day, the original Nioh is still one of the best games within the genre not made by From Software, so Nioh 2 has some big shoes to f
Nobody knows when The Last of Us Part II will finally release, and if they do, they're not telling. The next largest Sony first-party title after Naughty Dog's sequel is likely Ghost of Tsushima , the new IP from developer Sucker Punch, a studio best known for working on games like Sly Cooper and Infamous . The Japan-set fallen samurai revenge thriller looks to be shaping up to be one of 2020's breakout hits, but now fans are concerned that Sony might delay the highly-anticipated title from its previously-scheduled June 26 street date, to the point where fears about the game's release status have caused Ghost to become a trending topic on Twitter, as recently reported by Game Ra
Aside from The Last of Us Part II , which will release on May 29th, Ghost of Tsushima is likely to be one of the last major PlayStation 4 exclusives, with the release of the PlayStation 5 set for the end of 2020. Following Sony's announcement that they would forego E3 yet again, and with no State of Play presentations currently announced, fans had begun to wonder when a release date or more information on the action-packed samurai title would emerge. Thankfully, today's new Ghost of Tsushima weapons|https://tsushimagame.com/ of Tsushima trailer gave those players exactly what they had been waiting
The setting of Ghost of Tsushima takes place during the first invasion of Japan by the Mongol Empire . In the few trailers fans have already seen, the game seems to show the Mongols having a lot of success on Tsushima Island, basically razing it to the ground. In actuality, this event appears to be largely t
That said, this seems to be Sony's MO over the course of the PS4 generation when it comes to showing off new games. Despite revealing many of their projects years in advance this gen, Sony has also kept most of these games well under wraps, only releasing a new trailer or screenshots here and there before then showing quite a bit more gameplay very close to launch. Ghost of Tsushima has actually had a very similar pre-release timeline to God of War , at least when comparing the two so far. Speaking for myself, I think that this manner of being relatively silent about games that are in development for long stretches of time actually generates more excitement in the long
