The dialogue in this Game walkthroughs is top notch, even when juxtaposed with prior Rockstar Games projects. Micah Bell defecting to the Pinkertons is a subject of much contention among the game's community. It's unclear whether he was captured and forced to spy on the Van Der Linde gang in exchange for his life, or if he went to them in free will in hopes of creating the best situation for himself. Given his selfish personality and willingness to turn friends on one another the latter option is the one that makes the most sense canonically. Westerns have been a staple of entertainment for decades and when a genre like that is explored for that many years it begins to birth tropes that permeate through multiple films. Once Dutch began to lose his mind, Javier seemed to become ultra-defensive of the leader in a weird state of denial. He looked up to and believed in Dutch so much, that the drastic change in Dutch shook Javier to his core as his ideal leader crumbled to insanity.

In many ways, the reason John Marston pursues a better life and commits to being a better man is because of Arthur Morgan. Arthur's not a perfect person, but the entirety of the game's campaign focuses on a man coming to terms with the fact that he's a better man than the life he's lived.

We're not laughing at his fright—anyone would scream if they fell from a similar distance—but it's more the abrupt cutoff between when he lands and his nonchalance towards just taking such a big drop.
